EDIT: I am assuming this is true, even though I too realize it feels too much like the "stars are aligning", also link to OP is at the bottom of post

Summary: Guy meets girl who (according to him actually seems interested in him) but she has a boyfriend. They break up and he still doesnt make a move. She gets new boyfriend:

“You have a boyfriend now, you can't expect to spend the same time with me than before”

Again she breaks up with this boyfriend after 2 years and they rekindle contact, he still makes no move.

She has now moved in with her new boyfriend (3rd while OP was orbiting) and he asks the Internet for advice.

Body: The OP is a real wall of text but here are some gold-nuggets for you:

After her first breakup:

I wasn't interested in her romantically and since she didn't make any move or send any signal my way (that I could see of course. If she did, she wasn't direct at all and well beyond my abilities to detect) we just enjoyed our friendship in a purely platonic way.

"I was too much of a beta to make a move so I told myself I was only interested in her platonic friendship"

We even went abroad for a week just me and her without being effecively a couple. We did things with a marvelous chemistry that surprised even us.

I can only speculate who paid all/most expenses of the trip...

Hey, elthrowawayo00, have you ever thought how we could be together?” and I answered “I don't know, I never thought about it”. I lied right then and there, not only because I did thought about it, but also because I knew that she wasn't emotionally ready to sustain the growth of a relationship like ours to the next level and we would inevitably crash, burn and hate each other.

I believe most people can smell the Militant Atheist from the "I knew that she wasn't emotionally ready to sustain the growth of a relationship like ours to the next level"

If you are still following me we only made it through 1 of her boyfriends because up until this point they had a healthy and "purely platonic relantionship":

Then about four years ago, she found herself a steady boyfriend. I was exceedingly happy for her because she had always a little air of melancholy about her (which oddly enough she said she also always found in me). I of course accepted that my role as “best friend” had to be greatly reduced in light of a relationship and many things that we used to do weren't possible anymore and I gladly accepted this fact because I can honestly say that I only ever want her to be genuinely happy. I gladly accepted that, yes, but I can't deny that I felt a little hurt with the speed that she put me aside to dive into the relationship. Here's when things began to turn sour.

Then her relationship ended, after two years.

Still she wasnt quite ready for a relationship with Mr Right because, listen to this guys....

For example, because of a mildly uncomfortable situation at home, she feels the need that her Mr.Right must be financially independent and live on its own in order to leave her parents as soon as possible. Well then... Guess who lives with his parents and is an aspiring director? Yeah, yours truly. Don't misunderstand me, I am not an unattractive basement-dwelling manchild. I have my share of various work experience under the belt and I am hell bent in realizing my aspiration (with a more than satisfactory degree of success so far I might add) but I am way too far from economical independence right now, and it's a price I always knew I had to pay in order to realize my passion. And she always knew and understood that from the day we met.

She didnt want to date an "aspiring director living with his parents". I mean, is he really that far from reality? He is 30 years old, at some point someone must have told him: "Most women dont like 30 year old men who arent changing their own sheets"!?

Moving on, a year ago, she started a new relationship. The one she is right now. And I saw again myself seeing her enjoying her life with a new guy, making memories, discovering experiences for the first time, spending holidays.

...

Then in a matter of months, she moved in with him. A move way out of her character. This fact right there knocked the wind out of my lungs.

And here he is 8 years of orbiting later and he realized if he had maybe grown a pair at some point during those 8 years he could have maybe at least once got to have sex:

Now I sincerely feel that what she feels right now in her relationship is happiness. But I have the audacity to think that together we could be on the path of something more than happiness regardless of circumstances, and I am not talking necessarily about a conventional romantic relationship. I am talking about two persons with the same traits recognizing themselves in one another, needing only each other to be happy. (Those are the exact words that I often used to describe ourselves to her and she'd always agree)

Sorry for the long post but the OP is even longer and full of BP behaviour if you want to read it:

Lessons learnt:

  • Dont expect women to love you the way you love them
  • If you have any at all romantic interest in a woman and she "just wants to be friends", DONT !
  • Aspiring for you dreams from the basement of your parents house only works for women who are still in High School.
  • There is no unicorns and dont expect a relationship will solve the rest of your problems (courtesy of idgaf-)

I guess there are some more lessons to be learnt here but my sides are hurting too much.
