Some are calling it the sexodus. "It" is the growing trend among young men to opt out of relationships with women and with society. Men who find the philosophy attractive eschew dating, leave the traditional workforce and spend a lot of time alone or online. There's even a group devoted to the practice called Men Going Their Own Way (MGTOW, pronounced "mig-tow").

The impetus for the sexodus is feminism, say Emilie Aries and Bridget Todd, co-hosts of the podcast Stuff Mom Never Told You. In a recent episode devoted to the phenomenon, the two note that the economy is one main cause of young males' disaffection with women and society. In the U.S., the economy has transitioned over the past century from one based on manufacturing to one based on service. For guys, that means the loss of strong, burly-man jobs such as trucking and factory work. In its place are service-based jobs that rely predominantly on soft skills such as collaboration, empathy and listening — skills typically associated with females.

I am perfectly fine if women pay the majority of the taxes as long as you leave me alone, I don't take welfare but I also don't contribute on taxes. Why is this a problem?

All the social programs thats gender specific (totally sexist btw) that benefit women only, all these women who are net welfare takers and they are fine. Oh but men who don't pay tax but also don't take welfare they are bad, what is this logic?

...the article seems to treat dropping out of society and staying away from women equally. I do know there are some full monk MGTOW, but as I see it the majority of MGTOW are simply deciding women are not worth the risk. I don't see too many dropping out of society at all.

Beating around the bush won't make it. I don't disengage from society, I disengage from women. I love society, the more redpilled I get, the more I learn to exploit it.

Also, besides social work and maybe teaching, who gives a fuck about "emotional intelligence"? They try to base the preference for women (really due to gender quotas and affirmative actions) on that, to justify the bias against men.

And who's bitching and complaining about it? Not the men doing it, they seem as happy as they can be out of a dire situation, retreating to their true interests and not working like mules to sustain other people or society at large.

No, the ones complaining about it are the 30+ women who are getting ever lonely because Chad doesn't want them anymore and most of the "good men" have dropped out of society. So piss off, lady, you made the be, you lie on it, while I'll gust off another game that I paid $30 for and will provide me with 100+ hours of entertainment, instead of paying $200 for a date & dinner to get 30 minutes of entertainment (maybe).

I listened to it. As expected from the broad group of people who 'follow' mgtow there are many ways of going about stuff. In the podcast they pick up on individuals' random thought experiments and prescribe them to the group as a whole. What is this stuff about levels? Sounds like something she just made up.

The whole thing smacks of condescension. It's like they can't conceive of how men experience the world or the problems of men. If something is bad for men they say "that's bad, but..." They do it several times throughout the podcast. They end by saying that they feel sorry for people in mgtow and that they have sad lives or words to that effect whilst also saying they don't mean that (I guess so they can try to avoid the guilt from being mean), that society is better if we all do it together. They don't seem to realise the age ranges for a lot of mgtow, people tried that, it didn't work.
