I predict that in a few years the feminists will ban the bible, or at least take out parts of it.
[–]fickle_fuck4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Feminists will claim the bible or any religion is sexist for sure, but you have to ask yourself why would men 2000+ years ago have such a view on women.
Because even then they knew they were trouble.

I just had an argument on this very sub with THREE fellow MGTOWs ("gonzotw", "stoopididoit", and "MisterDorimant") about this subject (check my post history to read the conversations). Frankly, as someone who considers myself a student of life and do not fall any certain way of the aisle, I value the knowledge contained in the Bible and am becoming sick of atheists who reject the book because they reject God. The Bible contains rich cultural and historical value, and to repress it or condemn it is the beginning of the end. Everyone can learn something by reading the Bible, but no one can learn anything by rejecting it out of pure hatred towards Christians for their beliefs. Atheists have become some of the most vile people out there; a religion (or cult, rather) of its own that honestly requires more faith than any religion. I love MGTOWs and I love free-thinking, but persecution of Christianity and the Bible will get criticism from me anywhere I see it. Atheism has become too militant and hate-fueled. Honestly, I'd rather be a happy and dumb religious person than an intellectually "enlightened" but bitter atheist - if that's what it came down to. Who wants to be so unhappy that all you do with your life is bash Christianity on the internet?
[–]fearganfadhb28 points29 points30 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Absolutely. Couldn't agree more. I am an atheist by definition, but I refuse to identify with the term because of the repugnant, odious attitude so many atheists hold towards the religious. The leftist, atheist cohort regularly lambast and insult Christianity whilst simultaneously ignoring the evil and perils of Islam because "it's their culture and we should respect it". Anyone intelligent person should be able to distinguish between the bible as the significant, historical artefact it is and the religion it embodies.
[–]phreshstart7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
There is no God or if there is it wants nothing to do with us. We're forgotten here on this old dusty planet. But I agree with you that the Bible contains rich cultural and historical value. I especially value the teachings about the women. BTW did you know that there's strong evidence that the last ice age ended abruptly around 12.000 years ago due to some meteorites meting all the ice at once? There's your Noah flood. Same flood that's present in hundreds of other cultures around the world. Too bad that professional academics are hard to adapt to new evidence that proves the bible was right all this time.
[–]balancedben 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Most of what is in the Bible is watered down myths from the very pagan cultures they deemed evil and of the devil. It's not like this collection of books has a copyright on morality and decency.
[–]EMN971 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No because pretty much all religions and cultures have common messages of morals and ethics. Abrahamic religions stem from similar cultures with intertwined relations. Asianic, Celtic, Nordic and American religions likewise don't share too much with one another, but revolve around themes of nature, death and spirits etc.
When reading religious texts, always remember that someone wrote what they wanted to be spread. I don't think a rich man would have written stuff like "It's easier for a poor man to fit through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter heaven." After all, religions wanted to be spread, and thus needed to meet the desires of the common man. Messages of fairness, equality and justice are strongly desired in cultures where they are often denied by those in power etc.
[–]raxical3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's just a collection of old religious texts. I don't see any reason to hold it in any higher regard than Beowulf, the Poetic Edda, the Book of the Dead, or any other ancient work.

For fucks sake. You sound like the idiots who criticize this sub and MGTOWs in general. Yeah, a lot of atheists have suffered abuse by religious life and go through an anger phase during their rejection of it. I've talked with a therapist about how so many of my pre-MGTOW problems stemmed from the indocteination of Christ as the ideal, that i have to constantly suffer and sacrifice for others in order to be a "worthy" human being. It genuinely hurts my heart to realize how many male friends and family I see allowing themselves to be utterly destroyed by women because they think their suffering makes them christ-like and therefore it's the right thing to do. It's painful to watch, especially having known that life for so long.
But, much like MGTOW, atheists reach a point where they just don't really give a shit anymore and just go their own way with religion. I've probably read the bible 10 times as many times as you have, I've probably studied world religions in high school and college to 10 times the degree you have... and yet, I haven't been in an argument about religion in years. You're exactly like the people who say "men's rights activists are all ___" or "MGTOW are CULTLIKE... just bitter, incel, misogynistic, ___"
The men's rights sub does not represent global men's roghts attitudes. The MGTOW sub is not a universal representation of all men who've chosen to go their own way. Atheism sub does not represent all atheists. This is ridiculous, I can't believe I'm even having to say it. This is SJW logic you're using.
that honestly requires more faith than any religion.
Horseshit. I could inundate you with arguments against your faith you could never answer. I could utilize my degree in history to pick apart religious history and philosophy. But honestly I just dont even care cause ive gone my own way from religion.
Believe whatever the hell you want to believe. But have some self awareness and cut the SJW logic crap.
Now, show me how much you've all gone your own way by downvoting me to oblivion.

You think people care to listen to you rant way more than they actually do. No one cares, bro. Next time, try not to get so offended and emotional, and throw less insults. You sound absolutely miserable in life. Perhaps religion is what you need.

Again not because of science...
Anyway, if you really believe in science, you know that two examples do not make a rule... So your statement about religion being bad for science is not from the scientist in you but from the atheist.
There was/is many scientist who were/are christians but I'm not making a rule from it...

[–]JediFapArtist 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago* (15 children) | Copy Link
I disagree. Believing in religion closes doors to scientific exploration.
Prove it. Last I remember, science has religion to thank for its funding and exploration in the past. The Catholic Church specifically went to extreme lengths to support science, especially when it was in power (which leads me to my next point).
In the past people have been put to death by religious leaders because of practicing science. The religious leaders didn't want to lose their control over the people.
Again, prove it. The Catholic Church used to have plenty of political power and even at the height of its power it valued science and education and supported it with its vast wealth.
Millions of religious people have been killed by atheists for simply believing what they believe in the past. Throughout most of history it was dangerous to believe anything because of atheism. I am willing to bet that throughout history atleast 10x as many people have died for their beliefs as opposed to the lack of them. Religious people are the most persecuted people on earth, so this example really doesn't work, unfortunately.
Religion needs to be bashed because there are people who believe these ridiculous claims so entirely that they are willing to kill themselves and others for their beliefs.
Like what, Islam? No one with a sane mind defends Islam. Are you trying to say Buddhism promotes religious extremism and terroristic killings? Christianity? Mormonism? If you don't know the difference between a political tool such as Islam and a religion such as Catholicism, there's nothing anyone can do for you to help you fix your thinking. You've allowed your atheistic beliefs to cloud your mind.

If you are religious then you are (in most instances) only a member of that religion because that is the popular choice in your geographical area.
Yeah, maybe, but what's the problem with that?
There are so many contradictions in all religions that it is simply not logical to believe in any of them.
That's because you're taking them too literally. There's lots of colorful and metaphorical language in religious books that aren't meant to be taken literally. It's not anymore "logical" to not believe in them than it is to believe in them. New writings outdate older writings and the truth and meaning is somewhere in-between. It's up to the user and what they want out of religion. I feel you're trying to make an enemy out of someone that isn't an enemy, and most likely does not view you as a mutual threat.
There's a lot of propaganda that gets pushed around that tries to make religious people out to be some kind of monsters, and it's sad to see that brainwashing so prominent. Religious people want peace and inner happiness, why do you care where they get it from? I swear every atheist I talk to views religious people as some kind of dangerous threat.
To be honest, I'd be more concerned with the feminist doctrine that's overtaken public education than what people believe, read, and study in the privacy of their own homes. There's just better things to be worried about. If you're an atheist, that's fine, but just because you've found the truth for yourself doesn't mean that your truth is truth to another person.
[–]JediFapArtist 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, that's great, and I'm glad you've found what works for you. However, really, how do other people's beliefs negatively affect you? And more importantly, how do they negatively affect them? Independent thinking is obviously something you cherish, but you have to remember that the average IQ in first world countries is literally 100. That means most people are dumb. Most people just can't think very indepedently, so they cling to groups which give them what they want without having to think too much about it. They're not harming anyone, and they're happy. Everyone finds their own ways to become happy, but that's always the end goal. You've found yours but that doesn't mean that your way to happiness is someone else's way, too. Some people just don't care about studying nature, evolution, the origin of the species, etc., and it's not always because they don't want to; often, it's because they lack the intelligence to do so.
You are obviously concerned over people not questioning things enough ("when you simply believe in something because you are told too without enough supporting evidence it kills the questioning attitude"), but really, if people don't care to question things AND aren't harming anyone, why are you concerned? This is why atheists concern me so much. Because not only are they just as hard-headed as the religious nuts they oppose, but they feel the need to shit all over religious people every chance they get because they are more concerned over their beliefs than they are. Atheists, to be frank, just need to get off of everyone's dicks. The only thing that matters in this life is being happy, and shoving your own beliefs down other people's throats (especially happy, humble and quiet people like most religious people are) is not going to make anyone happy. It's going to offend everyone around you and going to make you miserable because you're always going to feel like everyone else is wrong and you're right. It's a bitter life to live.
Better to be dumb and happy.

MisterDorimant Yes, religion is responsible for funding much in the way of science. That doesn't mean that burning Galileo at the stake for saying the world is round was okay. Did You ever read the vatican's "apology" for it that was issued in the 1990s? It's a very fucked up way of saying "we were wrong, we are sorry." Something, something, "differences of opinion," something....

Exceptions don't form the rule.
Hell, NEWTON was a christian. A very fucked-up christian. Doesn't excuse Him for being a Dick (and He was).
Ok.
We also have the vatican to thank for supporting nazism during WWII.
"Thrust vs steering wheel", did I say it right?
Algebra comes from islam.
Oh, okay.
Despite its contributions to science (which, I might add were financial and not methodical), religion has repeatedly demonstrated, especially in the latter half of the 20th century, that it is unworthy of respect. I don't recall ever seeing an atheist televangelist rise to fame in the 80s or the 90s, do You?
Who cares?
Again, agreed to a point. The Bolshevik Revolution and Khmer Rouge under Pol Pot in Cambodia were prime examples. However, in both cases, atheism was the thrust but not the steering wheel.
I like that: "thrust, but not the steering wheel" I'll have to use that next time I find myself in a pickle. It's a nice rationalization.
Atheism really isn't to blame for that because those deaths were politically motivated. There's no atheist dogma. No atheist authority. No atheist holy book that says "kill everyone that disagrees."
Okay. So, because atheism doesn't have an official book, it can't be to blame for anything. Got it.
Just where do You get that? Religion has had a stranglehold on the Earth for at least 2000 years.
People choose to believe. You have an issue with free-will. Religion gives people hope and makes them happy. Sounds like you could use some, actually.
But even if You're right, well, that's because having bulliefs (which, I might add, are 9 times out of 10 not even Your own) is doing it wrong.
You're arrogant and self-righteous.
Yes, religious people have quite the persecution complex. It often comes about when someone disagrees with them. Sad!
Okay, so no one's ever been martyred, it's just a complex they invented one day because they're not actually preyed upon by everyone?
I don't deny that people are still being killed over their bulliefs to this very day ... by other bullievers. As usual, bullief is the problem.
Muslims, sure.
Atheism (and bullief for that matter) are largely a very personal matter. It's the clowns that can't seem to function unless they fit in as a member of some group that go on killing sprees and so forth. Herd mentality, it is a bitch.
Yep, Islam.
I'm not proud of atheists, in particular because of their history, which We touched on, and because of their modern behavior which has been hijacked by leftists and communists, but I am very proud to say that I have no bulliefs and appreciate capitalism.
Excuses.
buddhism is idiotic, but that's My opinion. Eastern philosophy, (as opposed to religion) on the other hand, is kind of interesting. Pointless but a nice read. My biggest objection to it is the fallacy that comes with it: that just because it's old it's true.
Who cares? It's harmless.
christianity is just extremely popular. The most popular in fact. Like justin bieber. And like justin bieber has shown, anything popular sucks. christianity has had it's day and we're on the third encore. The beer's watered down to shit. It's late. I'm tired. I'm going home.
Who cares? It's harmless. You're just showing your bias here. There's nothing wrong with Justin Bieber, just like there's nothing wrong with popularity. You're bitter and projecting.
mormonism, that's actually something I know about far more than I would have ever liked. Born and raised in utahahahaha. joseph smith was not just a convicted felon, but had he lived just a few more weeks when the evidence turned up, he would have most certainly been tried for treason against the state of Illinois and the United States and hanged. Instead he was run out of town for being a dick and shot in the back.
Again, who the fuck cares? People believe what they want to believe. Free will. Stop getting so offended over other people's private beliefs.
The book of mormon is a blatant plagiarism of the babble written from a 19th century perspective in 18th century English.
So? What religion isn't a deritivate of Christianity in some way?
mormonism is a fraud. And it shows. utah has a reputation for fraud and bankruptcy.
Ok?
Got any others You want Me to dis?
No one cares about your sick dissing skills, bro.
Atheism is not a cure-all, it's just that "without god" (which is the literal translation of atheos from Greek) is the right way to be. It's actually a lot like MGTOW. You can't really go Your own way if You go god's way. Or anyone else's way for that matter. The very second You do You're MGSEW.
Nah, I'd argue that agnosticism is the closest thing to MGTOW. Atheism is just another set of beliefs founded on nothing.
But if You'd pull the stick out of Your ass and give it a couple of really good sniffs, You'd realize that nobody's really stopping You so go whatever way You want.
Are you okay?
bulliefs, if they are good, don't need defending. god can do that for them. Unfortunately (for them), bullievers tend not to have realistic bulliefs.
So why have you been defending atheism for the last several hours?
I don't actively put people down for having bulliefs, I just don't give them automatic respect. I understand the perceived need to bullieve, I just don't think it's at all necessary or worthwhile. See, Not All Atheists Are Like That. Sadly, most of them go out of their way just to make others miserable anymore.
You're the only person here going out of your way to do anything. You're being more vocal about your thoughts on religion than any religious person I've ever met. How are you any different?
The real point is, nobody's bulliefs matter. Not Yours, not Mine, not anyone's. Nature's gonna Nature and that is that.
So why are you preaching?
To be honest, you've lost your marbles.

MisterDorimant Agreed, but bullievers are famous for their presumptuousness, pandering, and empty platitudes, so the behavior by the vatican regarding Galileo isn't really an exception. Yes, You did. Congratulations. Plenty of bullievers and non-bullievers throughout history have done shitty things. I'm not arguing about that. I'm saying bulliefs tend to be full of bull. Who cares? Not You obviously. You must be trolling then because "religion has repeatedly demonstrated, especially in the latter half of the 20th century, that it is unworthy of respect" is exactly what I've argued all evening with You. So You just go ahead and carry on defending something I have no respect for and We'll see if I ever respect You. Spoiler alert: I overcome Your attempts at conversion in the end. No, atheism doesn't have an official book, so no book should be blamed for their behavior. And by extension, atheism itself should not be blamed for their behavior either. Conversely, all religions have holy books. Some of these books contain writings which, if interpreted certain ways can and often do influence people into violence and crime. Sometimes the books are even used as an attempt to escape responsibility for their actions. Therefore, bullief is bad. But now, let's look at prison statistics for a moment, and You show Me where all the atheists are. Nope. Free Will doesn't exist. And I don't have a problem with that. Humans are nothing more than amazing biological, electro-chemical machines with no soul. Whether You agree with that or not, that's really the core thesis of /r/TheRedPill. girls are extremely predictable, naive, and easily swayed. Cause and effect. girls also have a high propensity to bullieve everything they're told. So bullievers should be treated just like girls. What's the wisdom there? Ah yes, treat her like dirt and she sticks like mud. Great! So if bullief is so worthwhile then I'll be reaping all that goodness. Don't need hope. Don't need happiness. Both are pipe dreams. But if that's Your thing, go ahead, I'm not going to stop You. I'll just say Your bulliefs are likely bullshit and 9 times out of 10 I'd be right. The difference between Me and a bulliever is that I will admit it. I take great pride in My arrogance, so thank You for the compliment! Self-righteous? Eh, maybe a little. Do I think that atheism has the moral high ground? Definitely. Do think that all atheists have the moral high ground? Hell no. Shit, Dude, I don't even subscribe to the Environmentalist garbage that's been floating around since the 70s. Now that's something very popular with atheists, which I find quite disagreeable. There definitely hasn't been nearly enough skepticism regarding that issue for a very long time. See, here's the biggest problem with Your line of reasoning: You seem to think that I'm saying all atheists > everyone else. Nope, it's just Me. Me > everyone else. How so? Because I say so. Bullieving that elemental mercury is no different than mercury ion isn't harmless. The former is toxic to humans, the latter is an entirely different substance with completely different properties. Two electrons per atom make an enormous difference, yet people are denying their kids vaccines because Jenny McCarthy is a cunt and many people still bullieve her. Bullieving that fluorine and aqueous fluoride are no different isn't harmless, for similar reasons. Bullieving in science is also wrong because that isn't how science works. Yet, ask most any atheist nowadays if they do and they will profoundly say yes. Bullieving in science is dangerous. It's what enables frauds to peddle things like holistic medicine, organic farming, and homeopathy because it's sold as science. It isn't, and the average person's inability to doubt is what is enabling that shit to spread. Bulliefs are rarely, if ever, harmless. Oh, I'm biased as fuck. I don't deny that. It's not a bad thing at all, it's great. Everything is wrong with Justin Bieber. He's crap peddling crap to a crap audience full of crappy teenage girls. And I can't remember a time when popular music was appealing to Me. Maybe in the 70s for a minute. Except for Disco. shudder. But bitter? No not really. I can promise You that I genuinely think popular music and culture is crap. I'm not offended. I honestly don't care what anyone bullieves. It's just quite likely to be bullshit, whatever it is. buddhism? hindu? paganism? tribalism? pygmyism? cannibalism (oh wait, that's catholicism om nom nom)? Should I go on? Atheism is a lack of bullief. Theism is bullief. Agnosticism a lack of a claim to knowledge. Gnosticism is a claim to knowledge. Agnosticism is not a third option between bullief and disbullief. You either bullieve or You don't bullieve. You either claim to know or claim not to know. There is no gray area in either case. Atheists were the original MGTOW. No gods, no masters. I haven't been defending atheism. I've been discouraging bullief. So, what You are receiving is atheism not just in theory but in practice. I don't have bulliefs, that's how I am different from a bulliever. So I'm not allowed to have an opinion on the matter? I'm not allowed to point out that I think that bullief is simply, in a nutshell, doing it wrong. I'm not allowed to spell it b-u-l-l-i-e-f and I'm not allowed to say wholly babble? So instead of rise to the challenge and prove to Me that bulliefs are worthwhile, You chose to "crucify" Me for daring to disrespect the babble. Problem is, I don't respect it. I don't admire it or its adherents or apologists at all. I mean who the fuck needs to have "thou shalt not kill" written down for them? I never preach. I teach. Because, in short, I'm not telling anyone what to bullieve or what not to bullieve, but I am saying that if You bullieve anything, it's likely bullshit, as far as I'm concerned. P.S.: wholly babble. Please don't crucify Me, K? K.
Agreed, but bullievers are famous for their presumptuousness, pandering, and empty platitudes, so the behavior by the vatican regarding Galileo isn't really an exception.

Quoted for comedy gold. You're obviously off your meds, dude.

Who wants to be so unhappy that all you do with your life is bash Christianity on the internet?
What's the difference with that and bashing women on the internet?

Common sense will always (and always has been) light years ahead of science. I love studying religion, philosophy, science, you name it. But science can be just as flawed as philosophy and religion. And you have to remember, most philosophy is pure bullshit and mindless masturbation.
MisterDorimant That's pretty much it. There's no science in there, there's not a single word in praise of intelligence, just mindless subservience.
That's pretty much it. There's no science in there, there's not a single word in praise of intelligence, just mindless subservience.
This is where I have to disagree with you. Study the Bible, there's much to learn from it. But if you decide not to, you've already made your decision. Several times this week, MGTOWs have posted MGTOW-like Bible verses and they are absolutely solid material. Considering these texts were written thousands of years ago, I find them to be truer than most science which can barely stand on its own for a decade.
Too many people overlook all the things wrong with the babble and cherry-pick all the good parts, then claim to be christian.
I also have to disagree with you here, as well. It's funny how much perception plays a role in things. In my experience, too many people overlook the good things within the Bible and cherry-pick the bad parts as a means to discredit it and throw it out with the bath water, then claim to know the "real" truth (atheism or what have you). There's no proof God doesn't exist, and there's no proof he does exist. Anyone who is 100% convinced God doesn't exist is just as faith-dependent as the Christians they vehemently despise.
Also, what's with this "babble" nonsense?

MisterDorimant I can tell from Your first paragraph that You know very little of science. Not meant to be a put-down but as a statement of fact. It's wholly evident in everything that You say. Not something to be ashamed of but there it is.

Lol. Okay. Before considering yourself a master of people on the internet, you should master basic grammar. But I'll keep listening.
Science is a very difficult undertaking, one which takes a huge amount of dedication and isn't fit for just armchair discussion.
Tell me more, mister armchair. You sound a little butthurt right now.
You actually have to be able to solve differential equations. You actually have to be able to contemplate difficult concepts like infinity and the infinitessimal. It takes years of study and is not something that can be summed up in a meme.
Says the guy using words like "babble" and "bulliefs", right? I'm still listening, though. You sound like you know what it takes to be a scientist.
That's right, We're here, not just to argue, but to criticize, to use judgment. Doubt, not faith, is the very essence of science. No wonder it's so unpopular.
Okay, so let me get this straight, because you "are a scientist", you're free from criticism but get to criticize others? Interesting.
I pose the same challenge. Study a college-level physics textbook, work through all of the problems, and then talk to Me about truth.
Is that what you did? Is that all it takes to be more credible than others on the internet?
Yeah, You're one of those "atheism is a religion" Guys.
Oh shit, triggered? I got you nailed to the cross like Jesus. Your butthurt is really showing here.
I, for one, do not "vehemently despise" christians. I just do not respect them. And I think bullief is doing it wrong.
Trust me, your disrespect is clear. You disrespect people for holding innocent beliefs and think you know better than them. There's no misjudgements here about your disrespect. No wonder why you're never respected on this forum, because you never show respect to others first.
Not that science = atheism or vice-versa, but I am a scientist and an atheist. You're welcome.
There's also Christian scientists. Does that mean you don't respect your Christian coworkers because they privately hold beliefs which differ from yours?
I do not respect bulliefs.
You don't respect anyone who doesn't believe precisely what you believe and that's why the atheist name has been destroyed over the years. You're just like every other atheist on the internet. Bull-headed like the people you oppose in your head.
We'll let the up/down votes speak for themselves. Your last post wasn't exactly received very well, so we'll see if that trend continues with your latest revelation.

MisterDorimant Sounds like You're the one that's butthurt then. You got nothing. No, I disrespect bulliefs, and more often than not, they are not so innocent. For someone to hold the bullief that the world is flat is a rejection of reality and therefore a mental disorder. Baseless assumption. Most of my karma points come from posting here, I just delete them for privacy. I am very well aware. And no I do not. However, I do not disrespect them for holding different bulliefs. I disrespect them for having bulliefs. I have no bulliefs. Respect is earned, and quite frankly, I know I can do a better job than they. I often do. Atheism had a good name? When? I'm not bull-headed, I just know I'm right. Maybe You just can't accept that nobody has to give automatic respect to anyone. Maybe Your own respect is worthless because You give it to everyone without question. Maybe You don't even know what respect means. Or maybe it's just that I value My own respect enough to not just freely hand it over to someone who thinks that someone else's bulliefs, written 2000 years ago, in a time of myth and superstition, are relevant in this modern world. As I said, there are some parts of the babble I actually agree with, but to base My entire life on it? Forget it. That's no way to live and to Me, not respectable. Carry on being offended.

Nobody ever sets out to becimes an atheist. It happens and then you can't go back. As a younger man I felt a lot of anger and antagonism towards religion. These days I feel like if religion makes you content and you're not harming anyone, than there's nothing wrong with it. Some people need it to keep from going postal. I don't try to convert anyone to atheism and when people try to convert me to Christianity (and they do frequently) I politely detour the conversation. You can convince people more being being a good example than by winning an argument.
Perhaps I should've said I discovered I was an atheist rather than I became one.

Whole idea is kind of stupid. Apples are great. And, if I was religious, that I ain't (anybody remember Sammy Davis?) I would pose that if God made them that good it was for us to eat them. And apple a day keeps the doctor away.
even Satan loves apples
[–]VaguelyFamiliarMan0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There's no reason to think that the fruit was an apple. It's an unspecified type of fruit. It being an apple is some pop culture bullshit. As an atheist odds are that most of what you think you know about Christianity is just some ignorant pop culture bullshit with no scriptural basis unless you've read one of those study Bibles where the bottom third of every page is potential alternate translations/interpretations and references.
The more you learn about the Bible the more you realize how what is passed off as Christianity is very far from what Christ and the Apostles taught. Most modern translations are by all appearances deliberately obfuscated to hide or change the meaning. The casual church goer who never bothers to read the Bible, let alone devote the time and attention to study it never knows what lies and half truths the preacher is spouting on Sunday. It's as bad as it was before the reformation when the Catholic church refused to let anyone outside of the clergy read the Bible or allow it to be translated into a language that the common man knew. The only difference is that man is ignorant now because he will not seek out knowledge whereas back in the day man was ignorant because knowledge was actively being kept from him.

These narcissistic cunts are spewing the theory that the forbidden fruit of "knowledge" is evidence that women chose to have babies with more intelligent less brutish men. And that essentially womens choice to led to the upbringing of humanity. One of the "punishments" of having eaten from the tree of knowledge was painful labor, which is mostly caused by a babies large head which is required for intelligence.
tldr; religious women celebrate that they were first to eat the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge

Didn't feminist change the bible. I believe they changed our father to our mother father.
Also not sure if i'm correct about this but is it not the apple actually represents sex. So Eve had sex with the devil. And then she had sex with Adam. I mean what is the likely hood that the 1st woman on earth had twins. And remember that Abel was killed by Kain. And god told Kain the he was a murderer like his father. Was Adam a murder? No. Some would say it's because Kain murdered that god compared him to satan.
