So I get paid pennies, have to go through costly education for said teaching degree/license, to be judged by my colleagues and others as a pedophile and be HEAVILY scrutinized at all times, to teach snotty and disinterested/disengaged students a curriculum that is based on propaganda, lies and delusion, while one single completely and totally unfounded lie against me will ruin the rest of my life, and sending me to jail where I'm regarded as a RAPIST OF A MINOR!?

Lets spend a minute to see the process of being a teacher.

Get 80k-160k in debt to get a masters (which most schools require you to be a teacher)
Spend 3-5 years being a substitute teacher. Or 10+ of being an adjunct in colleges/universities.
While being an adjunct/substitute get paid 15k-25k a year with no benefits and no retirement.
If you survive all the above, you - as a male - will still have to deal with crazy girls and there families who want to make you a meal ticket by claiming you raped/molested there daughter. Lets not forget even if you are proven innocent you'll never be hired as a teacher again...unless you made it to tenure.

OR you can get an associates/bachelors for a technical position and get paid 40k to start in most positions and get real medical and retirement benefits from day one. You'll also get better wages as you gain experience and expertise. So 6-8 years for a masters to work 5+ years to get paid, 13 years in total. OR 2-5 years for an associates/bachelors and have full time work for nearly 8 years before a teacher gets a living wage.

Male teachers ARE desperately needed in US schools. I agree with that statement 100%.

However, rampant and unchecked feminism all over academia has made it a very hostile place for men. Fix that problem and I guarantee a lot of men out there willing to give up a high paycheck to follow their passions.

I wanted to teach, have my degree, but decided against it. Too much to put up with. I saw a photo on Facebook from one of the acquaintances who became a teacher. It was a staff photo with like 3 men in there and 20 women whales.

I also have a friend who is a school teacher. I've asked his advice and experience. He said he likes it but then I managed to pull this gem out from him, he got accused once already of pedophilia because some psycho mom said that "all men teachers are pedophiles and she didn't want him to teach her children in class." Fuck that. I thought it was only news stories but shit... it really is a hostile environment for men.

Let me add my opinion as a male teacher (high school).

The gender dynamics do play a role here, but the biggest one is by far salary. I make 15 k a month (ZAR) and went to university for 5 years. The amount of work and the little amount we're paid make this only appeal to those who already have the passion.

The accusations male teachers face also don't help. A geography teacher in England lost his job and his house over an allegation, even when the truth came out 2 years later it was too late. The gender bias is ridiculous. I'm not allowed to be pro-men openly because of how pro-feminism everyone is. Female teachers can wear jeans and t shirts to work but I must arrive in a longsleeved shirt and tie everyday. If a girl comes to my class and talks to me the door has to be open at all times so nobody suspects anything. I can't hug them if they cry either, yet my female co-workers can.

Honestly this is still my dream job, but don't get into this career if you're not passion driven.

Strange. Almost every teachers contract I've ever seen has a (long void, but strangely still present) clause about women losing their position with no severance if they were to ever change their marital status from "single" to "married". I wonder why that clause is there if, as so many names in the article claim, "teaching young children has long been considered a woman's job".

Unless of course everyone, from the ancient Greeks all the way to the modern west until the 1930s and 40s, thought men were natures teachers... and "long" in this instance means "since the 60s". Have we really re-written history to this degree already?

The school curriculum is probably the optimum for the most useless collection of knowledge a person can learn for 12 years straight excluding basic arithmetic, reading and a small number of science/history subjects. Everything else is utter bullcrap carefully designed to give incomplete teachings about everything to make useless people that can't do anything unless they spend 4 more years in college/university. So devoting my life to that useless knowledge for a crappy amount of money, just to be disrespected by kids at work and the rest of society outside work and with high chances of being considered a rapist/pedophile is like one of the bottom barrel options in my life. I think I'd prefer to pick up thrash or clean toilets before that crap, at least that way I'd be doing something useful for society and not contributing to the education system scam.

I live in Canada and being a teacher here means being paid and respected far more than you would as a teacher in the US. However I still would not recommend it. The market has been flooding with teachers in Canada and even getting work as a supply teacher is incredibly hard. You are likely to wind up in debt and without a job if you pursue teaching, whether it is in the US or Canada. Nothing but a raw deal that I would not recommend.
