I feel a lot of pity for this guy. However, I don't totally blame him like others as this probably didn't start like this. I'm guessing that he is 10-11 years deep into this soul sucking relationship at the least (9yr old kid + pregnancy at least) and that downward slippy slope started somewhat fine but as the nagging etc grew and him wanting to make her 'happy' and live an 'easy' life led to him making more and more minor concessions until he ended up playing computer games in the closet like this.

It's almost like the Milgram experiments from 1964 combined with Pavlov's dogs or the Little Albert / White Mouse study all roll into one with this. The minor concessions of giving up on things he likes or did to make his so called 'partner' happy assuming it will be mutual but never is as she already has control and assumed an authoritarian role over him. The moaning, nagging, resentment, quiet treatment and with holding intimacy and sex being the negative stimuli that is learned as bad and to be avoided. If she kept him controlled with blinkers on like a horse so he can only see one path ahead that she determines. Is he really in control and able to look around and see the other paths he can take?
