One of the reasons i don't pursuit girls is i don't like to demonstrate bad boy attitude. I tried it and it worked for me.

But i like to be polite to people, i mean it's natural, doesn't take an effort from my side.

And about My Way part. If mgtow community will try to enforce values i wouldn't be agree with, i'll say that i don't need mgtow anymore. I am here not for the label.

I see the only way to spread mgtow ideas: by sharing knowledge, models that reflect reality. I don't think that sharing values (telling people how they should live their life) is a mgtow way. Therefore, although some may disagree here, i don't care if a man decided to get married, or to have kids. As long as he is well aware of the situation.

So, do what you want to do, you should know the pros and cons. And don't try to fit in any label. The goal should be not to become mgtow, but to become happy and aware.

Being a gentleman is for me like doing a good deed. I limit myself to one major altruistic act per year, and minor acts of selflessness to once a month. Gets it out of my system and I don't get dragged down by false obligations, nor do I feel unkind if I refuse to help.

I would never give up a seat to an able-bodied woman.

I hold the door for people regardless of age or sex, though I will stand there a little longer if I genuinely think opening a door is a strain for someone (injured, really old, disabled, etc).

Beyond that I am polite as fuck to everyone because it makes me feel good and I notice positive feedback in my daily life.

If your real question is do you need to be an asshole to be mgtow, then the answer is a resounding no.

Being a gentleman is the quickest way to keep women away from you. I was raised to be a gentleman, it's my nature. When I was younger I pretended to be an asshole to get women, it worked, but now I just do what I feel like. I respect older people but most women I just ignore.

This is a complex question to answer. In short, yes you can be a MGTOW and a gentleman. Where it falls apart is if (a) you are being a gentleman in order to gain favor, make an impression, or simply provide service to a woman, or (b) you perform "gentleman" acts specifically for women and not men.

For myself, the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction from what I've been trained by society. I purposefully do not hold doors for women, unless they are disabled, elderly, or have just held a door for me. I don't give them attention, I don't say good-morning, and I don't help them if they require assistance. If they ask for a favor I say "no, I can't help you."

I'm not impolite, I just don't go out of my way to give them anything. I act as if they do not exist.

Gentleman is a loaded term with varying meanings.

If it means:

Kind, good, understanding, gentle, self controlled.... I think these are good traits.

But if it means:

Open doors or do other special favors for people of a specific gender because that makes you a nice person who doesn't rock the boat and demonstrates your subjugation... Who needs this?

What it comes down to his boundaries. You can be a gentleman but have very thick borderlines called not being taken advantage of and not being used.

Being kind and helping the weak is part of the classic gentleman's code. I hope our society can keep this part as we rewrite the book on behavior.

I'm was pretty angry after my experiences, but I'm not willing to let society burn. A new gentleman's code is what we need to find a happy and stable life/society.

I defend the societal litmus on ethical behavior by the same points as "The Republic".

You can be a perfect gentleman. However you do it because it amuses you, it sure amuses me, rather than because you are blackmailed into it by society. Hold the door open for a girl, smile, turn your back and go about your business. It costs you nothing. I'm not there to pay their bills or stroke their ego, in fact I'm indifferent to whether they are 8 or 80.

Holding doors, give seats (unless it's an elder person, male or female), let her pass me in a waiting line etc- NO.

Doesn't mean you have to be an asshole, just don't be a pushover.
