Not only dying alone, but preparing to die, making sure you die in a way that isn't a burden to your kids and family (if you have any)

We MGTOW's arrive at the GYOW philosophy from many walks of life, from many backgrounds, conditions, and some of us have kids and some are married

I have two sons, and am in my 60's, so death isn't all that far away.

I'm preparing for it by making sure my finances and wills/trusts are in order and many other things.

When and if the time comes when I can't take care of myself and/or I'm just too sick or old to function as a fiercely independent single MGTOW adult, i will commit suicide.

Death is going to come to all of us, and I will not put my sons or my family through the long agonizing crap of "caring for dad in the nursing home" or hospice, or any of that bullshit.

I have the method picked out already, and when the time comes I'll notify the right people, and I'll be gone, and have left a legacy of a house in order, and no burden to my kids

Even married people have a 50/50 chance of dying alone. Simply because one will die before the other does.

And that's only if you ignore divorce at a later age and couples who are together but feel emotionally disconnected and lonely long before death.

Marriage is not a good way to avoid a lonely death, unless it produces a large number of kids.

I have seen a man die in company of his family and friends and you know what? he was not "overjoyed" or "happy". He was half conscious grasping for air while the blood cancer was slowly shutting down his body.

In these circumstances, he could have been in the loneliest of places and it would have made no fucking difference.

Any of you, still believing in the "nice and peacefull" death. Go to a Hospital and watch people die. Good Luck finding a person that is "divinely taken up by angels while waving goodbye to his loved ones".

Who doesn't want a large family hovering over their dying corpse, like vultures circling a rotting carcass!

Clearly they're there for you, and not for the sake of what assets they can obtain from your untimely death, which will inevitably cause drama and destroy the entire facade that was your family due to someone getting more than the other!

I understand the concern. I have been alone for a long time and it is very painful sometimes and very worrying other times. I wonder what I should do. They should make prostitutes that will spend time with you in your old age, and double as nurses maybe. I wonder if it could be done.

Marriage and pursuit of relationships is no guarantee against dying alone but is a very good pathway towards dying alone, broke and bitter. What is a man to do when his wife serves divorce papers, takes up with Tyrone and moves the kids far away so he only see them once per year and eventually they forget about him.

Rather save the money and hire strippers to send you off with a bang or two.

Hit the nail on the head there. As if the entirety of your life was all a waste if you end up dying alone.

I've always been a man who prefers solitude, starting from my teenage years. I can't imagine a worse way to die than to be surrounded by bleeding hearts and crocodile tears, suffering through the degrading feeling of someone wiping your ass and cleaning your bedpan, forced to live out your few remaining hours under fluorescent lights in a room where you hardly have any privacy. No thanks. Read up on starvation, it's a generally painless way to go. That's how I intend to die should I contract an incurable disease. People dying from starvation don't even feel pain in their last few days; quite contrary, they often report a great sense of euphoria and no remaining sense of pain. I plan on taking my elderly body out someplace remote and peaceful, where I will stay until I fall asleep and don't wake up. There are few ways to go that are more natural and dignifying.

I genuinely never understood why anyone wouldn't WANT to die alone.

if i am losing my life, and my existence the very last thing i want is to be in a room telling me of everything i am being separated from and the trauma of seeing them all upset.

I feel a burden when i am ill let alone dying.

dying alone under the stars on a remote island away from everyone seems the best way to go personally.

as a slight aside i watched a documentary about loneliness once and a woman who was lonely was talking about suicide and the reason she didnt do it was because she was mortified at the thought of nobody turning up to her funeral because she had nobody (friends or family)

now i did feel bad for her because she wasnt a horrible person she just had crippling self esteem etc, but i do remember thinking "why the fuck would you give two shits what happens at your funeral"

personally you can put me in the rubbish bin and send me to the tip, i care as much about what happens to me and who pays respect as i do my old toenails once i am dead my existence is over, so who gives a fuck?

I posted this a few days ago... my thoughts on the subject:

Why is there such a focus on dying alone? Consider this: the actual final moments of death occur in a very short time span. Many people are either unconscious, delirious, hallucinating, or medically sedated during their last hours and are likely not aware of exactly who is at the bedside or what they are saying. Yet people (especially women) place such a huge focus on dying and the process of death.

However, they seem to ignore the decades leading up to death when arguing about why we should find a woman to settle down with and marry. Fuck the discussion about her spending habits, burden of loans and debt, cheating, purposely sperm-jacking you, running up your debt and ruining your credit, demanding bigger houses and more luxury items, menopause, depreciation of attractiveness and fertility, and the extremely high probability that she will divorce rape you anyways. Ignore all of that and focus on the fact that in possibly 40 - 70 years you will die alone!!

What a ridiculous fear tactic to attempt to use to exploit us. Women are insane.

TL;DR - You go ahead and worry how you will die... I'm going to go spend my time and money on enjoying my life.

I'm a life long sailor. About 6 months before I found out my wife of 35 years was cheating I went on a solo cruise. 6 weeks alone in the San Juan and Gulf Islands on a sailboat. It was the best 6 weeks of my life.

i took a shower, as i came out of it i was able to be there as my mother died. she had been close to death for months, i could've easily have not be there and she died alone, she could've died waking up alone at night, our other siblings were there at times but live 1-2 hours away and were often not there because of work. my mom was very much loved and had 4 kids and a good support network, but easily still could've died alone.

....besides a few visits most of her last years were spent alone simply because people have different lives, it showed me how easily it is to die alone and that having someone there to change your diaper shouldn't be your biggest concern.
