We don't encourage celibacy, we do encourage men not get anyone pregnant and to get a vasectomy. Mgtow men can have relationships with women, but don't live with them or marry. Some mgtow men "go their own way" by not having personal relationships with women, that's their own choice

MGTOW is going so far as to see those subscribed to the mentality view celibacy as the only option.

This, they claim, is due to combined threat of child support payments that would be enforced by the government in the case of pregnancy, STDs and rape allegations.

One post on the group’s website reads: “Between all the life-altering diseases floating around nowadays, the 60 per cent plus likelihood of divorce-rape, exponential debt, and all the wasted time that could be better spent working… Celibacy/MGTOW is more then just a social movement. I'm MGTOW, yet I still date and bang women. Hell, I have been dating one for the past month that I am considering for a long term relationship.

To me, MGTOW != celibacy. I still bang 'em. I'm just not blind to their nature-- which they actually seem to like.

They like my awareness of socio-political structures, psychology, and the actual history of female oppression (that there really isn't one-- women simply used to be protected from themselves, and society protected from women).

I think to a lot of women, this shows that I am impenetrable by propaganda-- that I really don't give a fuck about social justice bullshit because somehow I ... "figured out the truth/reality" i.e. i'm not a fucking sheep. (And I'm neither Liberal nor Conservative. I don't believe in false dichotomies nor false paradigms.)

It just means I'm wise enough to recognize the nature of women, and to go my own way financially.

I don't have female friends. Hell, I don't even like spending time with most women. Except the one that I am dating.

Even outside of the ones that I date, occasionally I find that there are some that approach decency. They're just rare. Even then, there's one one more rare: the ones that are decent, and don't have an agenda to use you.

MGTOW to me, is just recognizing the nature of women, and putting yourself first.

She gets it wrong from the first sentence. MGTOW is not synonymous with celibacy, though MGTOW monks are celibate. you can be MGTOW and still have sex. You just don't get roped into marriage or kids.

I'm kinda scared by this.

First: This all seemed kinda "under the table" since I first came upon it ONLY 2 MONTHS AGO. And now we have a mainstream article on it.
