This is just a list with the biggest rating disparity between men and women. Whoever posted it originally also made a post about movies men and women agreed on which had movies like the dark Knight, fight Club, the Shawshank Redemption, Inception, etc. But yes, women love childish movies more than men, and men like war and action movies more than women, as we all could have predicted.

Thanks for the facts, I thought the numbers looked a little wonky.

I wonder how Titanic did. Can't imagine men liking it, I hated this movie.

Notice how women only enjoy recently released movies. They don't have the attention span to watch anything that came out out more than 20 years ago.
[–]Hypogamy27 points28 points29 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's because modern media is designed to press all women's buttons.
[–]Urishima8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Dude, that's the case with most normies.
[–]andreas-mgtow7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes!, Ran, Seven Samurai. Watch them on a 120" rear projected screen on your high def projector.

Agreed! I love Yojimbo too. The protagonist is a great role model for MGTOW.

The single most offensive thing about that piece of garbage was the way they tossed in the "well sure we fought" bullshit at the end to try and legitimize the 1 1/2 hours of absolute horseshit that proceeded it.

I really do wonder why in the fuck women are always into animated children's movies and musicals. Every single ex I've ever had always tried to get me to sit down and watch that Nightmare Before Christmas, Pixar, Despicable Me bullshit. Why? I understand some of those movies do have universal appeal and can be entertaining, but why do they all love that kind of shit? It's all they'll watch, too, and any suggestion you might have for a movie or show will be shot down.
My most recent ex said she liked Johnny Depp. I liked his performances in quite a few movies. Fear and Loathing, Rum Diary, etc. but every movie she named that had him in it were kids movies. The fuck is up with that?
Women really do have shitty taste in almost everything. Music, television, movies, books, comedy. The only meaningful, insightful conversations I've had about these things, I've had with men. Women never have anything deep or insightful to say about any of it.
[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Women are directly adapted to act as the nurses and educators of our early childhood, for the simple reason that they themselves are childish, foolish, and short-sighted—in a word, are big children all their lives, something intermediate between the child and the man, who is a man in the strict sense of the word. Consider how a young girl will toy day after day with a child, dance with it and sing to it; and then consider what a man, with the very best intentions in the world, could do in her place.
Schopenhauer
he says women are childish, and indeed they like children's movies. He says they are short-sighted, and only 5% of the movies in the women list and 80% of the movies in the men list are more than 30 years old.
[–]MahRussia1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There are some children's movies that have a lot of depth to them, Pinocchio being a good example. There's also Marry Poppins, Peter Pan, The Lion King... ok, pretty much all Disney movies, but still. For some more contemporary examples, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., and Wall-E were pretty good.(I'm not a fan of newer Pixar)
Notice how none of those types of stories, but in children's movies that are fanciful retellings of the hero story and the damsel in distress. I mean, how in the fuck can one justify putting Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix over anything in the men's version of that list? Come fucking on. And going out to the movies is still considered a "date"? It's already bad enough that she's going to do everything to keep the focus on her, but now she's going to complain and act cranky because she doesn't want to see and actual movie.

Cause thinking hurts their brain. That's why children's books and movies.

Hey the sound of music and Edward scissorhands are both excellent
Other than that... fair analysis
[–]chaircushion4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I do like 'the blind side'. Sadly it makes many of the men look dumb, but which modern movie doesn't.
[–]kayfab4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
This is proof once again that men and women have nothing in common, when i was with my ex i had close to 1000 movies on dvd, i ask that numb nut to go pick a movie she always bough back a Harry Potter movie, out of all the movie i had comedy, anime, sci fi and horror...
Women will always manipulate men in watching there dumb movies i remember my ex girlfriend friend we had Johnny Carter and she manipulated us in watching a dumb chick flick..... i got pissed off that night.....
[–]MahRussia0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Some of the worst moments of my life were spent watching some dumb shit that a girl picked out. They relish acting cultured, but when it comes down to it, they don't know shit about film because there's no way anyone who has viewed a sufficient number of films would pick out Harry Potter movies all the time.
If I ever fall into the relationshit trap again, I hope I'll have enough testicles to at least put my foot down and do something more enjoyable if she tries to get me to watch stupid shit.
[–]kayfab0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Whenever my sister-in-law is in charge of picking the movie for the night, it's almost always horrendous.
[–]Revorob2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In my experience, women have terrible taste in just about everything.
EDIT: typo.

Last year I met my buddy in the city, waiting on his GF to show up and we caught a moment to talk. Mentions how there's nothing good in the cinema, but is going to watch some shit with her. I told him there's Dunkirk playing, and he nods and says "Yeah, that's what I wanted to watch but she doesn't like war movies...". But they sure love their fucking dumbass chick flick romantic comedies.

[–]the2xstandard0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'm interested in learning about the methodology behind this. It is also very interesting most of the movies listed on the ladies side have all come out within the last 30 years or so (with the exception of one).

proves Schopenhauer right;
"Women are directly adapted to act as the nurses and educators of our early childhood, for the simple reason that they themselves are childish, foolish, and short-sighted—in a word, are big children all their lives, something intermediate between the child and the man, who is a man in the strict sense of the word. Why don't more men like The Things? By far my favorite horror movie.
i can only imagine what this would be like if we were talking about music. They usually have abysmal taste in music.

Except for Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince which is a masterpiece and my #1 favorite movie of all time, I hate every single film in the top list.

All those movies blow
[–]gods_bones4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link
Half-Blood Prince (and Deathly Hallows Part 2) are the only good ones. The rest do suck in my opinion.
Most people hate the Half-Blood Prince movie, but I think it's one of the greatest films of all time. The dark, depressing gothic atmosphere, the sad melancholic vibe that fuels the film from the first to last minute, the sorrowful music and the stunning cinematography, the way they changed magic spells from being CGI nonsense into just brief flashes of white light against a dark gloomy setting, the extremely short tender love scenes that get quickly snuffed out by the insurmountable odds that keep attacking the main characters, the way they use the sky and dark clouds as a way to indicate that the evil darkness surrounding them is cracking through their weakening safety bubble, the way Voldemort is not even in the movie at all so that in can focus on all the small human characters who are fucking terrified of his looming omnipresent threat, the way the villains are actually helpless terrified victims of the insane lunatics who control their group, even the way the protagonists talk as if they know they are going lose and they know there's nothing they can do about it. It's the only Harry Potter film that rejected the big blockbuster drivel and focused on the human characters and fucking NAILED everything dark and mature about the 2nd half of the Harry Potter books.
The Half-Blood Prince movie and its accompanying soundtrack are two of my most favorite pieces of art to ever come out of the Hollywood machine.

They all suck. The books suck too. Read a good book, like "Dune".
[–]gods_bones1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Sorry, I don't read comic books. Pictures just distract me.
[–]MuhTriggersGuise3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wish they'd re-make Dune with better production art like Geiger's vision for Alien.
