I am a good looking guy and I've been mgtow for 5 years now. Best period of my life on this rock. I've been using the ignore-the-whores trick for some time now and it always has some effect on the bitches. Like whenever I go to my fave grocery store I totally ignore the most pretty girls there and they usually go crazy. I remember one time I was in line waiting for my turn to pay and this 20+ years old pretty chick who was right in front of me suddenly turned her head asking me what I was listening on my iPod. Out of the blue. I had ignored her all the time and she couldn't stand it any longer. Women indeed are attention whores.

I don't necessarily ignore women, but rather I treat them like I treat men. When I'm walking in the hallway or on the sidewalk or in the parking lot, I give them "the nod". I don't break stride, I don't slow down, I don't smile, I don't puff up. I just nod. A single, barely perceptible movement of the head and meeting of the eyes that says, "Hey there, fellow sentient being. I've acknowledged your existence. Carry on."

The men "get it", and nearly all of them reciprocate. I'd say maybe 1 in 20 women even know how to respond.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I believe there is something elegant and noble about the silent nod. Maybe it's a guy thing.

Just going for walks is one of life's greatest simple pleasures. A little sun/moonlight on your face, seeing the beauty of basic shit like trees, gardens, and landscape, easy exercise, letting your mind wander about anything and everything. Sometimes I put the headphones on and just lose myself in my own serenity.

Can't recommend walking enough. I try to do it at least once a day even if only for 10-15 minutes because of schedule constraints, but I love to walk for hours on summer and fall nights.

I don't know how many of you can identify with what I'm going to post here:

When I was a college guy, I was a nerdy, skinny, average-height, very average-looking guy. Invisible to women. Also not much money. Not even a car. Couldn't afford one.

In the summer, I always went places with friends or family. I did not date. As I said, I was invisible to women. I had a world of interests and knowledge, but none of them cared about that stuff.

I remember going places for fun in the summer and seeing other people my age. So often, they had cars and were with their dates. They always seemed to be having so much fun. They also seemed to be about ten years older than me, even though we were probably the same age, if that makes any sense.

When you don't get to do the things that you think that "regular" people your age do, you feel like you're left behind, like you didn't get to advance with everyone else to the next level.

When I read the original poster's comment about how he would get frustrated seeing women in the summertime, because he knew they would not be seriously interested in him, it reminded me of my college years, that I wrote about above.

It used to all really sadden me. There is still a part of me that feels like I missed out on part of life. After all, those are supposed to be the best years of everyone's lives, right? Ha ha! ;-)

I sometimes feel that way, even though I know from this group that I probably actually did not miss out on anything. I even had a friend tell me one time that all I missed out on basically was a lot of unhappiness and disappointment.

Maybe the great appeal of MGTOW is that you take the power to control your own happiness from other people (the people who ignore you) and give it right to yourself. You don't need the approval of anyone to be happy, just like the original poster on his walk. If you are MGTOW, you can enjoy the world, even if you are me, because, even though things weren't like you thought they would be, at least you understand why, and you also understand that you were probably chasing after something that never existed for you in the first place. Why would I be disappointed over that I don't have a beautiful wife that is perfect for me, when I certainly wouldn't be disappointed that I'm not King of the Solar System?

Yes, there will always probably be a part of me that is a bit disappointed that things weren't what I thought they should be, or that I thought other people got to have more fun than me. But I should say that I have probably gone on to do more fun and amazing things in life than a lot of those people that I used to see around back in my college days, and there's probably also a good chance that a lot of them had some sad romantic relationship issues, which I have mostly avoided (luckily). So maybe the universe has a way of evening things out, though I do not think the universe is designed to work in such a way that everyone gets exactly the same stuff out of life.

From this group too, I also know that some of those people that I thought got to have all the fun, are also worthy of sympathy if they got the bad divorce or break-up later on.

The bottom line is, yeah, we all have emotions, but we can come back from whatever made us sad, recognize the world for what it is, and then find ways to enjoy it for what it is, instead of what maybe some of us thought it should have been, just like the original poster on his walk.
