When my wife would go nuts with the nagging I literally had to lock myself in the bedroom and put my fingers in my ears and try to take my mind off of it while she slammed her arms against the door (or worse). Granted, she had some brain damage that didn't make it any easier, though a fair bit of that was her nature.

Once everybody was calm we could usually resolve things. The problem is that my wife simply could not let it go for 20 minutes, and I was afraid that I'd end up hitting her.
