I'll be retiring from the military next year at the age of 43. No wife no children. What would you suggest I do with my options?

Cherish your friendships
Take time to try new things and rediscover your boyish passions with regards to hobbies
Take an occasional class and learn something new
Make a bucket list of things you honestly would like to do and accomplish them
Take the time to really stop and appreciate the world around you. The smallest things can be beautiful and there is joy to be found in our every day experiences. Be curious... see a show just because it looks interesting, or check out an event that has been popping up on your radar.

Essentially stop... breathe and enjoy Your Life. Mold and shape it to suit your needs and never be afraid to change it up and try new things. You have the potential to live a very fulfilling life. Use this opportunity as best you can... and have a great one!

You will be 'a catch' for a woman out there. You need to tell a friend or relative to be prepared to talk you out of marriage in the future. It sounds crazy now, but won't later.

I just had an awkward talk to a friend married in California. He's considering moving to Texas and I told him flat out Texas is better for a divorce. I love his wife and kid; and they're a religious family. Yet, I have to tell him, as a true friend, that he has to consider the possibility of divorce and Texas would be better for him.

Take time off and travel. Or simply do something at home that you want to do. Basically just chill out for 6 months to a year. Then, slowly start looking for work if you want to.

Depends on what you want.

You can get a job easy with any defense contractor, if you want to build up your financial assets. It is like being in the military, but fucking around with test equipment instead of doing missions.

Since you have your military pension, you can say fuck it right now and do jack all. If you've seen enough sandboxes, you can just bum around America in an RV. Find the best hamburger joint in the US.

Got a hobby? Music? Art? Try to produce your life's work. I would like to do painting myself, oils, acrylics, or similar. Not into watercolor, too abstract. Charcoal sketching is fun.

Hunting? Got an eight-point set up in your place? Something to try for.

A vacation to Yosemite is never a bad idea. They have cabin rentals. Best place to be outside with absolutely nothing on your calendar. This can be part of the RV hamburger hunt.

If you like cars, now is the time to get your mid-life-mobile.

Try garage carpentry if you never have had shop experience. Make something.

If you're a pilot, maybe pick up a new rating. If you're not a pilot... maybe pick up your first rating.

Try weird sports. Frisbee golf! Kayaking.

Read a little about zen meditation. Helps mental focus. Try tai chi.

Journal. Write every day. Just whatever is on your mind. Doesn't have to be a major effort, just a few lines. Try it. Pretty soon, you'll have a full list and plan of things to do in your journal. Cross 'em off. Look back at what you got to do, and be glad you took the time to plan it out, enjoy the memories.

Buy some cheap land where you can dig a well and get some solar panels that is still appx. An hour from a composting company. A place with adequate rainfall would be ideal so you can get some rainwater cisterns. Buy a manufactured home and grow a food forest on your property. Get some goats and chickens. Set up internet and get rid of your phone. Announce that you're only going to be communicating privately through skype or discord. Most people know what skype is. Property tax free states are where it's at.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I didn’t choose the MGTOW life, it chose me. I think the military has only made it clear by working for the government to stay away from military women. They pretty much preach MGTOW in their sexual assault briefings from my point of view. Don’t dip your pen in company ink. Don’t shit where you eat.

If I were you, I would continue to work. Boredom is a bitch. My plan (atm) if I gmow and dont do the marriage or kids is that I will work forever and then give all of my money to my bestfriend's children and my sibling's children to create/improve their wealth. To me, it seems like a man of your accomplishments would have many many options as to what you can do.

While your clearance investigation is still valid, go to work for a defense contractor. If you can tolerate living in a shithole for a while, deployment pay is excellent and a great way to save. Plus, you're a volunteer, one-hundred percent. Which means you can quit a shitty assignment anytime -- or least go take a long vacation somewhere in Asia on a warm beach.

Tell all you family members you're planning to write a will but don't know who to give the stuff to. Keep that going for a few years you will get the best treatment from your members being all fake and that. Then when you die and reveal it to everyone, have everything given to charity or to MGTOW just to give them that last troll.
