Hair length and style is purely about Frame and Expectation.

Historically, hair length in men has denoted many different class and societal distinctions. Ancient cultures viewed long hair as the mark of the warrior class, 17th century Europe saw long hair as a sign of wealth and nobility. 1960's America saw long hair as a mark of revolution.

21st century society views long hair as a mark of Youth, Creativity and a mild form of Rebellion (long, stylized beards as well).

Long hair is simply a choice on how you choose to frame yourself and the expectations people will have of the way you present yourself.

I will say from experience, that if you choose to wear your hair long after about 30yo, you had better have something to back it up

Honestly... I live in Europe, and the mentality is more about looking good in the workplace than the length of the hair itself. So they want people to cut their hair because then it saves the risk of someone looking unprofessional.

Not everyone can pull off long hair. For many it looks downright unclean and scruffy. So I agree with that policy.

Though for someone with beautiful hair, a smart ponytail looks amazing.

So I dont think its blue pill at all. In fact I think its more of a red pill thing. Blue pill would be making the workplace into a hippie place with complete slobs being allowed to come into the office.

I had long hair between 15-24, and i'm working since 21, so i spent 3 years long haired at a desk job. I never felt that anyone had a problem with my hair. I took care of it, and i had a really nice hair, so it was fine. Pretty much every acquaintances of mine eventually cut off they hair, some earlier then me, other few years later. Personally i just hated the maintenance, especially during the summer i had to wash it 3 times a week, well, fuck that.

Imo if you don't have a masculine body to compensate the long hair, it gives you a feminine look, especially when you are young and skinny.

I had a skin head for more than ten years,but one day because my friends are almost bold or like clerics I stopped to cut just to try joke them. Since I have long hairs (like shoulders,less or more) I have women (especially mature) complimenting to me,someone told me: "Please,don't cut your hair you are beautiful". A man in the gym told me that I'm like a viking with this hairs,so I can say that long hairs are not always a bad things. In work place I don't know,I'm a farmer on my own so I don't really care.

I've had long hair my whole life and it's never been a huge deal, sure there are some kids that make fun of me for it but I like it and am confident in myself with long hair so it doesn't hold me back. It's not about how others think you look, but how you view yourself.

I've had long hair for a few years now, and I don't feel like it's held me back at all. A few quick notes based on personal experience...

1) Taking good care of it is key. If you can't/won't keep it from being a greasy, tangled, dandruff-speckled mess, then you shouldn't have long hair.

2) Like any other hair style, you need the right face and build for it. You might like the style, but if you look dopey with long hair, don't lie to yourself about it.

3) You'll get shit-tested for having long hair. Mostly from insecure men, but occasionally from women, too. If you give a fuck, then you probably shouldn't have long hair.

4) Everyone will assume you smoke pot, play the guitar, and listen to metal.

I've noticed positive reception as I grew my hair long. But I think it depends on how it affects your perceived masculinity. A man with feminine features only exaggerates that with longer hair. But a man with already strong masculine features like a strong jawline and facial hair has those features enhanced by juxtaposing it with what is commonly seen as feminine hair.

Employers may be thrown off by the non-conformist nature of your hair and view you as more "difficult" down the line than the cookie-cutter short haired dude but times are changing. I remember when tats were highly frowned upon. Now, not so much. I've had longer hair and a huge beard all my life and found great jobs due possibly to the rather specialized technical field I used to work in. Smart employers will see past that, idiot bosses and HR queens will attach way too much importance to it.

Let me tell you something about fashion - most men have a high point in their lives. A time when everything is just awesome. It might be high school or college. And men try to hang onto the past by wearing exactly the same thing, the same hairstyle, they wore then well into their adult life. Surely you've seen the middle-aged goth or punk? The rocker in his forties, still wearing the same leather jacket he wore as a teenager? Long hair is a symptom of this.

It really depends on your frame. Society expects you to have a normal man haircut. It also expects you to marry before you reach 30, and... Society expects shitloads of things from you and it doesn't mean you should bend your knee when it comes to their expectations.

I myself had a long hair, and yeah society expected me to to shave myself. You know what I did. I shaved the sides of my head, made a mohawk with braided hair. My frame is, fuck you and your expectations., I'm going to do what I want to do. In a modern world that kind of frame is way more masculine than bending your knee every time society asks you to.

I read somewhere else that experiments were performed where their abilities were greatly reduced (hunting, etc) when their head was shaved. If there was a global cabal trying to churn out beta slaves, I suppose it would make sense to disconnect them from nature, and reconnect them with the state.

Ask people who have been in street fights that ended with someone landing in a hospital or morgue how'd that long hair would work out for them if they had it.

Long Hair can work if you plan on running game on artsy chicks as some sort of Mystery-era peacocking.

It could also work if you're really jacked, so that you could play contrast game, but if you were really jacked this thread wouldn't have been created.

Not being sarcastic, but where in the civilized world is long hair taboo for men?

That is unless you're on the management track, but if you're a corporate kind of person, then you wouldn't even think about growing long hair, so it's a self-resolving issue.

With the advent of tattoos, piercings, nose rings, those ear tunnel things, and other forms of self-mutilation, long hair on men is a pretty tame manifestation of personal preference nowadays, at least where I live.

Conceptually speaking, long and well kept hair on men violates Law 38- because most guys don't wear it that way in the professional environment .

Select numbers of those corporate slaves are Betabux's who USED to rock the free spirit "long hairdo" back in their Alpha days (for some of them) , met a girl, and let her wear them down into betaness. Losing the long hair is just one more sacrifice they made along with the muscle car they sold and the band they quit to "keep the wife happy".

You show up in a corporate environment with hair theses guys used to have, and it inspires envy. Not good for ones career unless they're in an untouchable political position.

Further, I've found it's a dead giveaway you're up for grabs to women.No female with a properly domesticated man will allow him to have long and attractive hair. This can be problematic if you're in a female led office.

Posting in this thread because I actually have long hair and I can tell you it's one of the best decisions I've made for my "aesthetics".

Anyone that has seen me with before having my current long hair (second straight year with long hair) will admit to me that my current hairstyle "fits" me much better than when my hair was short. I really love my long hair, and I'm not going to cut it for a job - seriously. Honestly, I never had a single person tell me I should cut my hair or so because it actually looks dope.

It really only matters how you take care of your hair. Make a nice manbun, [good] conditioner once every day, shampoo only once or twice a week & trim the neck hair.

I have long hair..down to my chest. It hangs flat when I move..cause Im a modern samurai..and it is my HELMET. My hair says rocker. My hair says party animal. My hair says artist or musician.
