I think there are multiple reasons, actually. Sex tourism is one reason, but there is also conspicuous consumption (a "must-have luxury experience!"). Beyond that, there is also the thief-like casing the joint, of looking for greener pastures and a nice free lunch (one of the reasons that women gravitate toward rich areas). Additionally, women travel because rats leave sinking ships, and, sensing the decline they've created by gnawing at the framework - they abandon ship. If a woman fucks up her life (or the lives of those around her), then she can always start fresh somewhere else after building a network (which is why facebook is so useful for keeping up with friends in far off places).

Additionally, women have a herd mentality, and after watching "Sisterhood of the Traveling I-Crapped-My-Pants", or "Under some Tuscan Sun Bullshit", or *"Stella Got Her Groove Smacked: Jamaican Adventure part 5", well... they just get that travel-bug, and they've got to take the obligatory picture of holding up the Leaning Tower Of Please-God-Stop-This-Madness!

So... Sex, yes, but other reasons, too.

It's not that they travel more IMO, It's they tell EVERYONE about their travels much much much much much more at work, social media, random strangers, etc. They WANT you to know. I've been all over the world and don't really feel compelled to tell everyone at parties or dating profiles. If someone asks me, I will tell a few tales of my traveling but EVERY time a white girls is amongst her peers, she is ready with her stories...... "oh this sushi isn't as fresh as that time I went to Tsukiji in Tokyo" or "Guinness taste much better in Ireland" (the one and only time she's ever drank guinness but has 1000 selfies of it). See where I'm going here????

Meh... OP, how much traveling have you done? Where have you been? How many random samples of the travel population have you recorded for your mgtow research?

I love traveling, and I know plenty of guys who do as well, and i've met plenty of men (& women) while traveling. I've been to the Oceana region, Caribbean, South America, Canada, Alaska...

I don't think people, men or women, mostly do it for sex. That's absurd. That would imply that most tourists are sexy tourists, which is just silly and baseless.

There are so many awesome reasons to travel, from viewing landscapes/wildlife, to cuisine, to cultural excursions, etc. Sex is merely one facet in a multitude of possibilities.

Also, I've never seen any evidence to support the claim that 'women are more into traveling than guys are'.

It seems in every major tourist and "backpacker" spot around the world it's mostly just huge numbers of women "finding themselves".

Nah. Not a rational statement until you conduct a statistically sound sampling experiment to get an idea of the population you're dealing with. Until then, it's just unfounded conjecture.

I don't think it's true. I travel quite a lot - I work online so I am able to go where I want, when I want. When I am not settled in somewhere, I usually stay in hostels to save some money and for the most part there has been an equal number of guys and girls staying at the hostels I have visited.

This idea of using traveling as a tool of self discovery is silly to me. You are just using a form of external stimuli to awaken insights and revelations that already exist in your own mind. Taking the time to relax, meditate, reflect, engage in sophisticated discourse, and think in depth about what everything actually is and how it works in one night will advance you light years compared to weeks of the best traveling.

Yeah they do like cruises and having a "woman's day out" or a week to go and get drunk, probably hook up with some drunk guys and buy shit that they don't even need. I like traveling too but for me it's about hiking up mountains, hell even rent a 420 friendly cabin in Colorado and relax away from all the drama and shit coming from women.

Want to see how prevalent this issue is? Visit a central European dating site such as lide.cz, now notice closely how the attractive females have holiday photos of them by the ocean. Notice how the unattractive ones mostly do not.

2 reasons for this. Obviously they're not paying for their holidays, and usually always have a benefactor.

Now I've heard of some serious shit going on here, like guys buying females cars and even apartments, but the average guy here cannot afford these extreme displays of "generosity", but what can he afford? Holidays! Not that many but even a modestly paid worker here can afford a holiday for two somewhere in the sun if he saves up for it.

Year after year there is a fresh wave of suckers who wouldn't mind taking a trip to the sea, and too wouldn't mind having a semi attractive babe with a body to accompany him.

What follows is a kind of business deal. At bare minimum she scores a holiday while he gets beta fucks and company. Mostly there's hope that something more will follow from his side, or her side if he's wealthy enough.

Think of it as about the best GFE you'll ever get, but you're paying the bills only and not her time.

Maybe it's weaksauce, but I think I'd rather just "travel" using VR equipment if the travel is just sight-seeing. A single short vacation, complete with flights, hotels, etc could buy a full VR setup. And when I say setup, I mean a new VR-capable computer, headset, and omnidirectional treadmill (these aren't out yet, but can pre-order for $500)

Is it a true substitution? No! But it's also re-usable and will be useful for gaming. And it doesn't come with the whole host of inconveniences that actual travel comes with. I travel for business, and I can say that the travel part itself is a pain in the ass. And that's with someone else picking up the bill for it.

Now if it's a more activity-based trip, then the case for travel becomes more compelling. But traveling just to see shit?

Actually i have a general theory on this and I think it stems from the inability to "feel beauty", which is why they need constant holidays or extreme experiences to see any wonder in life.

For me I could walk through the city on a very normal day and feel majestic awe of my surroundings, or something simple like neon night lights or if not, then the strum of a guitar, or a simple activity like mending something.

In this sense the "need" for holidays represents a queer sort of deadness inside. Obviously this affects men too, but I agree, women do love travelling far more... Perhaps it's also related to why they don't have as much hobbies either, they cannot see the innate beauty in such things.

I do enjoy going on trips every year to places I've never been before...but I've always found it difficult to assign the term 'travelling'.

It's a three week holiday. That's it. If I'm going to more than one country in that three week period, then it's a trip.

I love to travel - but I really only like traveling domestically IE in the USA. USA is big enough to explore for a lifetime - Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon. But I can only do a trip or two a year right now. Finances, time off, etc. Plus they are more likely "tourists" than travelers proper. I tend to bike/moto trek alone, and I sleep in a tent every night and save myself a luxurious night at a motel 6 for an extra rough day.
