OK. I already see that there is a post here, much like this, about a therapist, but my situation is a bit different.

See, I've been seeing therapists for depression, and my dad usually sits in. I want him there because of his knowledge. I don't really keep secrets, and he doesn't either. I guess that's a good thing.

Here's the catch though. My dad is still what I considered "blue-pill." It can be annoying at times, but it's what he's been spoon-fed since he was a kid. I can't really blame him. It can be a culture shock when someone thinks different.

Here's a recent conversation I had with him. "Hey, Bullshit! What are you doing tonight?" -"I'm probably just gonna practice my welding. Why?" "Oh nothing... Met any cute girls?" -"Not really. They don't look up from their phones, so I don't talk to them." "Don't you have any needs you just... Need a lady to fulfill?" -"Not really. I don't think with my dick. When I bring logic and brainpower into the relationship, it all falls apart. I don't want to text a girlfriend I'm seeing 30 different times a day. I need my space." "The therapist said you need to try interacting with girls. Don't you have any friends you can have set up a date?" -"Having a friend is my first priority, not dating someone. Every woman I talk to is just a money pit with a hole in it. Haven't you learned anything from your divorce? I don't want anything to do with that." "You know not all women are like that, right?" -"Sorry man, they all act the same eventually. You probably thought the same way with mom, and now look where you are. Don't drag me down with this." "... OK, great conversation. I'll be in the kitchen."

I just diffuse it really quickly. I hate being so brutal, but it's what I've had to resort to. This happens more than a couple times a week. I get he just wants the best for me, but how do I tell him, and people like him, I'm not interested? I want to be respectful, but tell them I'm definitely not interested.
