Wow, did you see the very last line of the article? Deadbeats in the UK are given a lawyer before being hauled-off to jail. Wow, they actually do something better than the USA (divorce-related, that is).

I can relate to this all. It's frightening. The article plainly says he's been working hard, bringing home the bacon for 20 years. And what's he get in return? All his money taken away and a free trip to jail.

How could anyone consider marriage after reading a story like this?

I feel sorry for him. He very likely grew up with the "Be a Man" mentality (be a Nice Guy, find a wife, have kids, work hard, be a provider, pay your taxes, believe in law and order, etc.), only to have his life end angry, alone, and broke. He didn't say it, but I bet he feels betrayed by "the system" (the Be a Man mentality). It's easy to just call him a sucker and move on. But when a big percentage of the male population feels betrayed by their civilization, there's a real problem. How can anyone deny the "the system" is a lie, a scam, a corruption of society?

This is so obvious, it was her own choice and not everyone pretends it was for HIS sake. As if he CARED whether she worked or not.. This is the problem, we do everything we can and then when rock hits the bottom, they pretend to do everything for us. While the decision to stay at home is mostly her own comfort..
