In my most recent journies in Thailand, the only Thailander chicks turning tricks were single moms. The mass of bar girls are foreigners.

The economy of Thailand isn't that bad. Most local single girls have enough money to survive just fine. Prosper? no. the best route to that is to go work abroad & catch a western husband. but the girls (well, the young ones) can afford to be fairly selective about the guy.

Singapore is a bus ride away. Lots of middle-level prosperous transient foreign guys there that have heard stories of how good a Thai wife treats you. Your offshore-gas-platform workers, etc.

First of all, I label myself as a sexist and I find that's a good thing. That is to say, gender is biological.

As far as "gay," I would imagine for the most part it must be biological, but even for those where it "isn't" biological, well, too bad so sad it may as well be.

Thus, sexism doesn't just apply between heterosexuals, it applies to all [gender]+[gender preference] mixtures. Each category is its own set of stereotypes and will get its own set of "privileges" and setbacks. Assets and liabilities.
