In any case, for me personally all this says is that the idea of everyone always being able to find a compatible partner is not worth entertaining if it's gonna take that much effort. In other words, I've decided to treat it as luck of the draw much like the genes I inherited, although that also means that if eventually I end up marrying some average looking person with no outstanding qualities then that's fine by me too. The problem with dating apps is it's 100% physical appearance. When you meet people in person there are things that catch your attention. Sometimes in a good way and sometimes in a not so good way. It all depends on the person and what quirks they find attractive.

Smell is important. If you smell like her brother, incest jokes aside, there's probably not going to be an instant attraction.

Find a girl "friend", someone you're not trying to fuck. Learn to have conversations, learn to make her laugh, even if it's at your expense. Take advice on clothes, hair, whatever.
