The current state of society is a big mess. Bankers prop up the housing prices due to women entering the workforce (Feminism). It's now hard to support a family with just one income. However, women are now still not happy due to the stress of juggling between work and family. They yearn to be a housewife. All the rage go toward the husband for not have enough salary so that they can stay home taking care of the kids. The husband is tired of the nagging wife and feel exhausted trying to sustain the "American Dream".

I read a lot, there isn't much I haven't done from world travel to showbiz to waiting tables, so at this point my cool kid days are over and I play with my dog and read. I know it's old fuddy duddy stuff but the simple things in life do wonders for your mental health

Want to be a runner.. buy some running shoes..nothing more than 100 dollars.. go and run.. can't run..start walking/light jog//walk..till eventually you run..

Martial Arts..only brazialian jiu jitsu..no mcDojo shit there.. Live sparring and useful techniques. men will be trying to strangle you or submit.. You will tap and see no mcDojo shit there..

Now you set your self free..your time is your time.. play overwatch..go run..do Muay Thai..(also not mcDojo as kicks and punches hurt)

Meditation is the single best habit you can pick up. Do it every single day for (when you're starting out) about ten minutes. Eventually, after a long time, it'll make that empty feeling go away.

Not sure if I should pursue martial arts, I mean I could either save $10,000 or earn a blackbelt in 4 years, and most places these days are mcdojos.

Find a real dojo and then do pursue martial arts. This will also solve/alleviate your need for companionship and get you in shape.

Alternatively, join a newbie running group.

Pick up Eve Online. It has free to play now. You can play as little or as much as you want, you earn skill points at a constant rate whether you play or not. There is a lot to do and not really any rules, so you can basically do whatever you want to do. Other than a couple co-workers, my space homies are basically my only friends.

Branch out and try different things. If you find something that grabs you, go full throttle. Invest wisely and retire young. It won't be hard to do if you stay single.

Once you have the capital to fuel your ambitions, the only limit is your imagination.

Oh, and get a dog. One that suits your own energy level. They may not be able to talk, but they can be just as good of a companion as any human can be.

In the past especially when I didn't know what to do with extra time I volunteered at a 'no-kill' animal shelter nearby. I eventually adopted a dog and continued to volunteer there about 6 days a week over the course of a year. I found it really rewarding interacting with the dogs & cats who generally need a fair amount of attention and felt that I could positively improve the lives of many more animals than I could ever hope to give a quality home to.

Also, if there are any skills you're interested in, check around the surrounding area and they're may be free seminars or low cost classes available.

For instance, this January I'm enrolled in an "Introduction to Basic Welding" course at a community college approx $360 for 4 (6hr) Saturday morning sessions.

Also enrolled in free Beekeeping 4 session evening semenars (3.5hrs) put on by some local Beekeepers at the public library this spring.

Check your area out, you may have something similar going on.
