I wouldn't say they're dumbed down for just women. They're dumbed down for the human race that's filled with stupid people and women. I like to think of Apple devices as smart phones for stupid people. Their shit is way too straight forward and simple.

Apple focuses on marketing towards women, meaning form over function. Being practical and buying the products with the best cost/specs is essentially boycotting Apple.

Pretty much all Apple products are for women, or just people who don't have a clue how to use technology.

Half my students (and pretty much all the girls) have Macbooks at my school despite being inferior to even cheaper PC's. They do look nice though which is all they care about.

I have moved from Apple to Android... then on to Windows Phone. There's lots of myths surrounding Windows Phone. I find all the apps I need. It is stable, fast and the GUI is simply very well made, just like desktop Windows 10.

I never liked the Apple ecosystem. It simply was not compatible with the nerd in me. When I started amateur photography, I thought Apple would be a good way to go; It turned out I paid too much for hardware and the software was not optimized. So a few years ago I did away with all of it and bought a PC for $1000. It is way faster for Photoshop than anything Apple offers.

Oh and don't get me started about Android. It is what Windows 98 was for Microsoft. It needs a complete do-over. It is stable at first, then things get crappy fast. Lots of stuttering, memory full, storage full. I never experienced anything like it since on Windows Phone.

For my PCs I now use several different Linux distributions (Debian, Gentoo, Ubuntu, CentOS). I even develop code for clients on it. I use Windows 10 on my main workstation. It simply has excellent user experience, way ahead of even the very good Ubuntu. My fileservers run FreeBSD with ZFS. Awesome stuff.

I've been using Linux on my desktop for over a decade now, and I recently ditched my Android Galaxy phone for a Blackberry Z30. I love it!!!

I don't understand why you need all those apps. I get everything I want from a phone on Blackberry, and it's extremely secure with solid hardware and software.

The last straw for me is that the iPhone doesn't have an option to clean unused storage (aka clean the cache of apps), you have to uninstall and install them again. BUT, there's one weird trick!

Go to the iTunes store and tap to rent a movie. Magically the iOS will reclaim lots of space for you. It will complain that you can't rent because there's no space, but now you've 1gb more free space.

Fucking cucks.

I will admit to moving from an iPhone to a Samsung with Android but that was mainly so that I could write code for it without owning a token Mac. The whole computer/smart anything market keeps dumbing down but at least with Android and to a lesser extent Windows you can turn the stupid off.

Only time I bought Apple products was because I had programming projects that were in objective-c for Apple products which made me a lot of money. Otherwise I would never pay for overprice pieces of shit.
