Before FDS I was the ultimate pick me. I was in a relationship where whenever he told me to jump I would. I would do everything he wanted me to. I would fuck up my own schedule to match his. I'd try to be his mommy and keep him on track because he couldn't care or be bothered spending time with me.

Slowly and slowly I grew more resentful but instead of leaving I stayed and became even more over the top Mommy in the hopes that if I do everything he will love me and finally act right. We had many talks many conversations many promises many hours of me explaining, yelling, screaming, crying because I just couldn't understand why he didn't love me enough to treat me right. It tore me up inside I loved this man so much but why didn't he love me back.

Then I came up on this sub. I read so many posts, commented here and there and subconsciously this sub influenced me. When I would see other reddit posts I would comment with a FDS mindset. That slowly changed my relationship too.

I was done being his mommy and overseeing this whole relationship so I took several steps back, I tore him 10 new assholes, set up steel barriers and put boundaries in place and oh my god what a relief. I feel so much better, my relationship is so much better its damn near perfect now. I don't beg anymore, I don't tolerate disrespect, I don't drive myself crazy and do wife shit. It's like an 180.

He knows I won't settle for less and I will leave him if he acts up and it's been smooth sailing ever since. Before i get comments about dump him omg. I unfortunately do need him. I'm in am abusive household, I'm jobless and if it comes to it he's going to be my escape.
