On the topic of gay marriage, have you noticed women's hostility towards this new ruling? Men seem indifferent and really don't give a shit while women are pissy. What's this all about?

My theory on male homophobia is that it is the women who perpetuate it. Male gays are not beholden to pussy and give less value to women while lesbianism reduces the competition by other women. Men also fear being perceived as less masculine in the eyes of women, and they attack gay men to prove their masculinity to society.

What I find more interesting is why women love being around gays. Talked to a gay friend about it and he said girls like to "protect the gay" because he's different and thus....gives her value? He said he's shocked how often girls hit on him and try to convert him. He says it's fucked up, especially because he knows he's not very attractive (he's short and fat and he's lucky if he's a 5). That means to me they really just wanna gauge themselves with a gay man. It's not much different than being a utility.

So if gays can marry, I suppose they lose that "magic"?

It may be just you. Where are you noticing this hostility, in comment sections of sites or in your family or friend circles? I think the men are happy about this and not as indifferent as you say. I'm certainly indifferent.

Women don't mind gay men as long as they can get something from them. For example, some women don't mind marrying closeted homosexuals. A lot of them don't want to have sex with their husbands anyway, so its even better if they have a gay guy who doesn't want to have sex with them either.

If gay marriage is legal all those homosexual men who would make good non-sex-demanding beta husbands could jump ship and legally marry another man instead.

So, I haven't been on a date in well, a really long time. I was brought up with this old fashioned belief that {my parents are conservative} a man pays for his date, holds the door, etc. All of the old dating stuff. Anyway, knowing that those rules exist, it has kind of made me somewhat of a mgtow. I have to spend my money on someone who may or may not enjoy my company? Nah, I am good. Goin MGTOW!!!

This past weekend, we have seen the gay marriage pass, and I have been thinking, does this level the playing field for men and women now? I mean, now women have competition from the very men they are trying to date almost. Granted I understand they could date women, but if that were the case, they wouldn't bother to come on the date in the first place. And then when they raise the whole "the man is supposed to pay", I can honestly just look them in the eye and go "this is the 21st century. We don't play by those rules anymore". What are your thoughts on this??

I would say gay men really do care about this issue. I'm a college student though so most people in my social groups are really happy about the ruling. I'm just happy we gained a "+1" on the freedom scale. I'm looking forward to seeing how the gender dynamics change as homosexuality becomes even more normalized. My guess is that it will drive more men to MGTOW because study after study tends to show gay men marriages end up a lot happier than other marriages (and hmmm....I wonder why!?)

Edit: And I just thought of this. A common line coming from married dudes on this topic is "Cool, gay people get to be as miserable as we are!" I will sit back and laugh once they realize that gay males will actually end up happier than their straight counter-parts...again because a certain gender is out of the equation for those gay men.
