Do you just "turn" MGTOW?

I realized that, deep down, I've always been a man going his own way.

Something never felt...quite right about me trying to stay on the normal path of work, marry retire and die. Similarly [and this doesn't apply to all MGTOW but certainly to me], my repeated failure at the dating world contributed to my misery so much where I would shut myself alone in my room for weeks on end.

Realizing that this path would destroy me, I embraced a more individualist approach to life and make it my mission to live with low stress levels, to not effectively do things because it's 'expected' of me. Fuck expectations, you have one life, live it chasing your dreams, especially if you detect that the normal path has rejected you.

So, likewise, you should reject it and opt out of its illusory demands and stresses, living with your best interests in mind.

It came natural to me. I have always put myself first and never pretended to give fucks about things i dont give a fuck about. Thats just who I always was. I never had problems getting girls, maybe because I am radiating this mindset or something, no clue. So even in my first relationships there always came that point when the girl started to increase demands, bitching, nagging, trying to seal the deal. My natural reaction was to set them straight / cut them off as I would not accept their bs. Clear boundaries/rules. Cross them and you're out, easy. I was never an overly emotional guy. Researching marriage law etc and analyzing it immediately made me realize it is one of the crappiest deals on the planet. Just one day I stumbled upon the label MGTOW and realized that thats pretty much what I was doing all along ... A lot of people seem to have one big initial red pill moment though. After that it is a process of taking smaller doses regularly for a period of time until you are cleansed.

It was then (age 14) I realized that women do nothing, offer nothing and add nothing to a man's life. Women are well beneath men. You have to brainwash men from birth to get them to lose enough self-respect to pursue women. This is why the myth of romantic love is promoted, this is why male spaces are always threatened.

The truth will put women out of business.

My father, from about the time I was was 8 or 9, instilled MGTOW values in me. He was married to a soul-sucking succubus who sat on the couch, complaining and eating bon-bons all day while he worked 9 hours a day at a job he deplored, but was forced to work to support the family. He moved up the company ladder as I grew up, and the higher he got in the company, the more he pushed MGTOW. Always telling me to never get married, never let a woman drag me down, and never allow myself to be less than everything I can be.

Then when I was 18, I met a girl who I would (foolishly) come to think of as my unicorn. "She's different, dad, she was made for me", I'd say as he shook his head. 3 years and 1 engagement ring later, her true colors finally shown through. The unicorn I thought I had found was nothing more than wolf in sheep's clothing. My reality crumbled along with that relationship.

In that time of bleakness and anguish, I found myself. Came to grips with the harsh realities of the world, decided no woman was the effort and my trust, and have been MGTOW ever since. My dad and I laugh now about how stupid I was and how I almost completely ruined my life. Suffice to say, I've learned my lesson and I have no intentions of going back to those hellish blue pills day, no matter what comes my way.

For me I was living MGTOW from the start really. Despite that I have had more than my fair share of relationships but I always felt like something wasn't right, traditionalism wasn't for me because as I got deeper in to relationships I couldn't ignore how it was leading me to get screwed one way or another. I always saw the iceberg well ahead and never let myself hit it. By that I mean as soon as I realized a woman was starting to steer my life (as they do) and I was sacrificing too much of myself I ditched her. Sometimes that would take two weeks, sometimes it would take two years, sometimes it would take 3 or 4 years. Thankfully I was careful and never let myself be pulled in to child rearing or marriage...that's where the serious damage happens.

I don't regret these relationships, they were important life lessons. In fact I would advise any young man to have relationships with women both casual and also try being in a LTR. It's an important experience and something that our biology drives us to do. I don't wish to sound condescending but there are some parts of female nature and how women operate that you can't really get to know unless you have had long term relationships with adult women. Even in reading detailed descriptions and analysis...you still can't quite grasp the full picture unless you've experienced it first hand. For somebody your age...MGTOW is a valuable and potential life saving heads-up...a glimpse in to the way women operate. Combine that knowledge with relationship experience and you will swallow the pill quite naturally. It's not a conscious decision and unfortunately once you know the truth...you can't un-know it...there's no going back. That's why the Matrix red pill blue pill reference is so apt.

A) I'm not sure I'd call MGTOW "redpill". TRP is an entirely different mindset.

B) I've always been "mgtow", as far back as I can remember. Raised by a feminist single mother, it always bothered me that what I was being told never quite squared with what I was observing.

Specifically, I remember making girls in 6-9th grade mad when I pointed out that I wouldn't look at them beyond normal conversations. About how I wouldn't allow myself to go all googly over them because they were cute. What struck me then ( and I couldn't explain it until years afterwards ) was the anger they expressed. Like I was personally offending them ( which I was ).

I remember thinking "I must be wrong", and trying it "society's way" before realizing that if I was wrong, I didn't want to be right.

I thought I would throw my cap into this. For me it was a general evolution from the time I was 9 and had my first experience with girls. It didn't end well, and it pretty much set the tone for any future interactions with women. That is to say they never got any better.
Now that isn't to say that I wasn't of a certain personality type that gravitates to solodom anyways.
So at the end of the day I would say that it really depends on how you end up coming at it. For you it could be either way, I have certainly heard both kinds of stories. I think ultimately though, that the redpill just doesn't stick unless you have personal experience to reinforce it.

When I was a kid I had this relationship with another girl my age. When that ended and I entered middle school I completely lost interest in forming any kind of relationships with girls and this extended well into college. I just don't feel like I'm built for that kind of life and when I do make the attempt I get very depressed and I feel more isolated than when I'm alone. I'm far more interested in my hobbies than to even bother with women who are mostly trend following airheads that will financially cripple you in a heartbeat if you either marry or cohabitant with them.

TRP and MGTOW are similar yet different.

The fundamental difference is that TRP vociferously advocates self-improvement while MGTOW makes it optional. That's the bit I don't agree with.

Having said that, most MGTOWs seem to be working and (or) learning / doing cool shit so they're not wasting their lives.

My first red pill moment was when I found out these two girls manipulated me into dating her after (her friend) had rejected me. It was a huge wtf moment at 15 or 16. It took me a couple years to try dating as it seemed stupid to jump into another one so fast. Once I found mgtow and red pill the wheels started spinning about every relationship I ever had.

The evidence is always there, but the ability to look upon it and understand it for what it is required a process of blue pill failures and a slow recognition that women do not fundamentally change over the course of their lifetimes whereas men can and do.

The moment of epiphany was a simple one which reminded me of the mentality of kids at a playground: the leader of the group just assumed command and they never asked for permission and they aren't concerned about who comes or goes. I chuckled to myself that it was this simple and the key to taking back power that women have over men is to never put women in a position in which they have any power over you at all. Once I started doing that I never questioned what I would do with my life or where I would go as there is no interfering factors.

Here's an example of displaying and maintaining social power: I have a favorite Starbucks and I will commandeer two tables for my laptop and assorted gear. A single mother, her brat and an older woman (unclear as to what the relationship was) sit down at a single table next to me. The single mom asks to borrow a chair and I don't even acknowledge her. The older woman asks and I don't acknowledge. So the older woman goes to another table and gets a chair for the kid.

Now I could have been polite and offered one of the three empty chairs when I was asked, but my time belongs to me and I don't want to be disrupted. This does not mean that chivalry is dead, but since women are empowered and capable and independent why not just take a chair and assert your independence?

Of course I listened in to the conversation between the single mom and the older lady and the entire conversation focused on a man the single mother was going to try to lock down, even though said man did not get along with the kid and the single mom revealed all of the difficulties that this would cause the kid's father, not to mention the tension with the man intended for lockdown.

Friends, the choice to go mgtow, for me, was similar to swimming from the bottom of the ocean to the surface. The failures, the emotional sting of rejection and seeing that AWALT, having to pretend to be happy for other people who pretend they are happy in their relationships and yet when I finally broke the surface and breathed deeply for the first time I knew then and will for all time that going mgtow was the best decision I have made.

I didn't just turn red pill and embrace mgtow, but the learning process was certainly worth as once I got here I had the tools necessary to give the middle finger to the blue pill way of life and I have never been better.
