I'm 27f and I don't really have a lot of friends, just some really close colleagues and some girls I know from university.

I didn't really think about it much when I was in university, but now when I hang out with these girls, all I notice that all they talk about is other women and boys they like. Completely shallow and empty topics, with no purpose. They have no discussion around current affairs, or their opinion on politics, they have no real hobbies, and whenever we chat, its always about other people's business. They also think they're better than other women, and think men are generally beneath them. I had one of them say when we were out, "no man is worthy!" when I asked if she was going to give her number to a guy who bought her drinks.

It drives me crazy because they live up to every female-millenial stereotype.

I have a HUGE passion for politics and current affairs, and I love playing video games, watching good TV series, reading fantasy-fiction and political non-fiction, I knit and sew. I love cleaning. Etc. I'm not the most riveting person, but damn.

I struggle to have genuine female friends with a deep connection, because I feel like those that I've been exposed to are really... empty? Shallow? Only talking about other women and boys?

Is this normal for women my age? I don't want to sound like one of those chicks that say, "I don't hang out with girls because boys are less drama!" for male attention. But I honestly find that women my age aren't that interesting.

Thoughts? Advice on finding genuine female friendship? Help?
