Gone are the days where well fleshed-out, high-effort posts were somewhat commonplace in here. Every other post is a lazy, opinionated CMV with no supporting arguments other than muh anecdotes and personal life experiences.

The sub has gone full-tilt into a gender-divided Hunger Games scenario where shit-flinging is encouraged and hyperbolic, vitriolic opinions are rewarded with upvotes. Conversely, when a high-effort, well fleshed-out post is made with links to authoritative studies, the sub wavers - unsure about how to handle it.

"W-....What do I do? Do I upvote? Try to contest? Everything here seems true and is supported by evidence, but..... I just don't like it because of the implications being made about (my) sex....."

It's no surprise that the most popular posts are ones that tacitly shit on the opposite sex. "Women like Chad, Men sexually objectify women, Women use men for resources, Men don't like or care for single mothers, Women's relationship dynamics are parasitic, etc."

This sub used to be about debating theories from TRP against the more whimsical views of TBP, but now, it's mostly about shitting on incels who can't even speak out because it's against the rules, shitting on FDS, ignoring valid evidence and uncomfortable truths, and spewing vitriol at each other. Not a good look for this sub in general.

If left unchecked, this sub will become a tattered shell of its former self, which is really sad to see considering that I used to enjoy reading posts here. Now, not so much. Too much toxicity has oozed in and the Jannies have gotten a bit lax.

This sub would be a much better place if we could accept that reality sucks and crying about it or hurting others after it being discovered doesn't make things any better.
