I’m going to call this one for what it is.

The previous CEO was shit canned. She won the job because she already outlined a plan to cut overhead and kill jobs. On the outset you could spin it as her being a bad CEO, but I guarantee the shareholders were applauding her work, and in their eyes thought she was doing a wonderful job.

This isn’t a gender issue, this is a corporate America issue. It’s standard playbook.

Edit: I know I will get heat for this, but women aren’t terrible at everything. I would go as far as saying female nature would make them great CEOs, because women can be heartless.

For me a stock is a no buyer if there is a female member in the board whose title starts with a C. Ok perhaps chief communications officer excepted. But that must be compensated with healthy company results.

That's a shame, I'm a big fan of electric vehicles. I wasn't interested in a Volt or Leaf per se, and prefer electric scooter tech for urban areas, but it was nice to see some competition in the market.

In marine applications we're all about switching to electric tech. Solar electric in my case. This Covid thing has stopped me from doing another conversion, but maybe this summer I can get something going.

Not sure her motivation for shutting down the Volt, but I'm guessing no one wanted it. It just seems to pale to the Tesla tech now that they have lower priced cars.

Bottom line is that GM has been a shit product for years. I used to be all Chevy and Caddy. I bought a 2105 Silverado that I ended up driving rental for 6 months over an AC compressor. Then I bought a nearly $90k Escalade ESV and the electronic went haywire on the second day. I returned it and went to get a Toyota. I gave up.

This is a bummer. I hate it when good people have to lose their jobs. So is this CEO going to take responsibility and then take action to improve her company so that maybe workers can get hired back? Bailing out the giant car manufactures was a huge mistake. The reason they needed a bailout was because nobody wanted to buy their shitty on record "planned obsolescence" vehicles anymore. Instead of letting them fail, like they all will eventually, the US taxpayers ended up bailing them out.

If a woman becomes a CEO at your job, expect there to be several layoffs and stock to either tank or the company to be dissolved soon. It's rare for female CEO's to succeed, or women put in positions of power in general.

In Buddhism, women should not be in charge (of an organisation, society, etc). A religion will last only half it's lifespan if women were in charge.
