Hello! This is my first time making a post here. Been lurking in this reddit sub because I like how woman empowers another woman here. So, here is my story.

I am currently in FWB relationship with my coworker of half a year. It was consentual and we agree not to appear clingy or close to each other in public as I don't consider him to be truly a boyfriend. But, lately he is putting less effort. He used to text me lots and pay for every meal and any other date activity. Sometimes, I paid. Because I don't want to owe him anything. Lately, I feel that he puts less effort into this situation and I kept feeling like he doesn't want to see me. Kinda understandable since he has family issue. (his parents are going to be divorced next month) Is it time to cut him loose? And how to cut him off in the nicest way? Since I worked at same company and same department as him.

TLDR : Wondering if I should put more effort into FWB coworker or cut him loose, and how to clean up the mess I made nicely.
