Should you date someone better than you?

Are you sure you're objective about your own worth and that he's "better" ?

Do you have a list of things you feel you should and can work on to improve yourself as a person? (probably low self esteem)

You're young. Let him worship you and love you and give you things that you need emotionally and enjoy your time with him. When it's not enjoyable, leave. That's it. Keep your independence, continue to work on yourself, build yourself, devote time to your future, don't get lost in him, build social networks and interests separate from him. Allow him to love you, flatter you, and care for you and enjoy it.

He clearly thinks you're more than good enough for him or he wouldn't be interested.

You seem to have fairly low self esteem. If you date someone now who you don't respect as much and he 'just breaks up with you', isn't that just as bad or worse? If you like this guy, go for it, but don't put him on a pedestal.

I think you have to have low self esteem to think (if you haven’t done anything wrong hurtful or immoral) that anyone is better than you.

Better how? Money, experience, looks, character, maturity, upbringing, mental health, lineage? So many ways people can be “better”.

I think you should aim to date someone you admire. Because respect is always mutual and respect can’t be faked. They should inspire you to be more
