I was in a long term relationship for a lot of my adult life so I've never done a ton of dating. I'm in my early 30s and I feel like I'm just getting played left and right by practically every guy I meet no matter what their status or background are.

I've cut out all the types of guys that are red flags as far as I can tell but I cannot see these guys for what they are I guess. I'm ashamed to admit they use pretty base tactics to get through my defenses though I've gotten a lot tougher and willing to cut out very quick if it's not what I want.

Sometimes I just let them because I'm horny. I know those guys will cancel me and they do but I don't give af because I'm making that decision. But the thing is, even when I don't, and I try the stuff I read here it doesn't work for me. I've tried letting them chase but the guys I want to chase me never really do and are low effort. And it's not just the schlubby guy you'd expect.

I've tried most of the tactics I've seen here on the guys I want but it's like if you don't have sex with them they lose interest, and if you make them wait they lose interest. People always tell me I'm confident, and gorgeous, and funny but these guys just don't seem to be attracted to me for more than a fling.

I've tried to stick to the texting advice I've seen here, I do not send nudes, or even extra candids. I let them know I have self respect and that things like that are earned by boyfriend's and husband's. I don't really talk sex and I set that boundary pretty quick the second they start. Again, that's a man who's committed to me's privilege.

I sort of feel like in a way part of it might be the sex I like to have. I like it rough, and I like it in ways I know a lot of guys are into that are problematic depending on the person... For me it's not about being demeaned. I don't know how to prove that but my mental health is tended to and I'm in a great place and have been for a long while.

Buttttttt, it seems like if you're into what I call "porn sex" they love it, they're like blown away speechless after. And then they leave. Do men only want women who fuck boring or something? Should I be having what I'd consider boring sex for a while? Because that's super lame. But if I have to I will, I just need to know.

I think I'm confused the most about initial and ensuing contact. What's the pattern I should be doing? I've def decided to let them text me first but how long do I do that? I want to show I'll put in effort too and it feels weird but whatever.

How long do you let them chase? I swear it's like the second I warm up and get less business they bounce. I'm just like omg can I get one guy to want me long term? I just DO NOT GET IT. I know this type of advice is all over and I've read a lot but I decided to ask because I don't know wtf I'm doing specifically.

I also don't have any friends to ask, they're mostly coupled. girls will lament with me on it but they obv don't have any advice if they're getting the same results. I'm really big on boundaries, and I'm really big on autonomy and respect for my time but I feel like I just get walked all over when I least expect it.

It's to the point where my opinion of most men is super low. I fully expect them to do shitty things no matter what. This seems par for the course til you're willing to put up with some assholes bullshit. I know in my heart and from finding this sub that that's not true but please help.

Please ask me specifics if you're picking up on anything from what I wrote... I might be overlooking things, missing cues... I'm just seriously at a loss, I've tried so many things with different guys, I never reveal my dating history (it's been...Extensive since the break up)

So I don't think they think I'm a "slut" (hate that idea, that liking sex makes you a whore) but maybe they do think that somehow. I also get told I'm sexy and while I'm very aware of that, and probably naturally sexier than a lot of women, I cannot help that.

It doesn't make me some floozy. I can't help if my walk or the way I fucking pick something up is sexy but it seems to make me a target. Am I supposed to just downplay every single aspect of who I am and my sexuality, and all that just to keep a guy around??
