This is amazing and so brave of you to do. I’m so proud that you were able to help. It will mean a lot to that woman one day when she finally breaks free. You may even be a pivotal key in her realizing she needs to escape and that people care and when she’s ready will jump to help her.

Abuse victims are kinda like addicts (from what I've witnessed), they won't get out of that situation until they've reached their 'rock bottom'. All you can do is try to help them help themselves. You did what you thought was the right thing to do, you stood up to someone today, even though you didn't have to. Be proud you were a better person than that guard and hope you're not the only one. :)
