I think you can be a HVM and be humble.

The key is realizing that being humble is not thinking less of yourself. Rather, it’s thinking more of others.

Taming your tongue to not be boastful is step.

Also, strive to see your blessings (material possessions, physical gains, social or career status) as gifts from God and tools by which to build his Kingdom. That’s in contrast to the “look-at-me” mindset our culture breeds in us.

Ephesians 4:2 - Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Humbleness =/= Self deprecation

Humbleness =/= Low self confidence

Humbleness, in part, is having a razor sharp understanding of your skills and recognizing them appropriately.

If you are bad at something - don't think yourself great. And if you're great at something - don't think yourself bad. Be accurate in your analysis of self.

Finally, just because you are great or are bad, neither impact your redeemability or the love God has for you. Or anyone else for that matter.

Remember all those things you used to accomplish because you were so much better than everyone else?

Those are now things that you've accomplished because God loves you, is on your side, and blesses you accordingly. And that's all Biblically supported.

If God is for you, who could possibly stand against you? It's no longer pride, because all glory belongs to God. Someone who has unshakable faith that the all-powerful arbiter of the universe is in their corner is much more intimidating than someone who is full of themselves.

I have two prescriptions.

1) Take RP content in doses. Two weeks on, two weeks off. Keep lifting, etc., but tune out from the constant stream of RP material and field reports. If your just starting your grind, think it's most beneficial to come to RPC, get some new information, feedback, direction, and then focus back on your own life solo for a couple weeks again. You right now might not realize that you're still not in your own frame, you're trying to adopt RPC's frame, and you're anxious and frustrated when it doesn't work day-to-day. Tune out from Reddit to give your own frame space to materialize.

2) Read Proverbs every day. Easiest way is to just read the chapter corresponding to the day. Today is July 16th, read Proverbs 16. Chew on each verse. After three or four months of this, questions like this will answer themselves. You'll start to naturally recognize godly character in yourself and others as your mind's paradigms begin to shift.

These two things combined with lifting, focusing on my mission, and being dedicated to the work God has laid out before me, have done more for my marriage and sex life than simply drowning in RP posts every day.
