I truly believe there is a large number of people who's brains simply can't really feel connection/emotion/intimacy/love. For others, even if they could find/feel a bond/connection, the oxytocin wears off really fucking fast. After a couple cocks they end up like the people in the first group. The closest creatures in mythology that I can compare them to are zombies.

They're walking around, always hungry, never satisfied. They seem to be conscious. They seem to have a heartbeat. They look alive but they are the walking dead. They are attracted to the living like a narcissist is attracted to happy/compassionate/empaths but they don't have the ability to really share/connect. At first you can't tell. They put on a great show but they are just mirroring you and/or telling you what you want to hear. If you get duped and fall for it you will be drained of your lifeforce like a vampire draws blood. They don't want to drain you completely. Just enough to make you weak and keep you as a slave/supply.

If you start to feel their selfishness and stat trying to fix things by having some expectations/boundaries/standards, they'll play along for a bit. They'll say they "you didn't tell me" (it's your fault). But now that they are exposed they will start searching harder for an exit strategy (monkey branch opportunity). They are always looking but they'll be working harder at it because it's easier than learning a lesson and having to make even the smallest changes. Why change when they can just move onto the next victim like locusts.
