Private companies are already publishing their progress on vaccine and clinical trials. So no woman can claim on facebook that she is the one who did this. Also, media has already done that part of showing women as the frontier of fight against coronavirus.

You know that this vaccine will be pushed upon us , not by govt per se, but by employment and/or schools. For example, college students might be required to take this vaccine before stepping foot back on campus. Same for employment. Of course, I will rather telecommute than to take the vaccine.

Yea, they'll make it go through some channel that will inevitably place a woman as the figurehead for it, and by default gaining all the credit for it.

And even if a man somehow manages to get the credit, there will be a whole slew of articles talking about "these are the women who helped make the Covid vaccine possible".

Guaranteed there's a lab assistant or someone who got B's at best on their PI thesis who's rubbing their hands together maniacally in the corner thinking "soon... soon".

Labs are female-dominated as it is, and not because women are any better at lab work than men; I've been out of work 3 years because every time I apply, if I'm going up against a female candidate, I lose every time. I just got one of those "I'm sorry, we went with someone else" emails from a for a marijuana lab in my home town, after demonstrating I had extensive experience, accreditation, and a stacked CV; I bet you the person they chose has ovaries.

They all have quotas no doubt, and HR departments are basically useless do-nothing work that's also predominantly women; it's a bottleneck and a gatekeeping job that almost precludes the possibility of merit counting. I'm honestly considering just faking being trans or something so I get an even shot in my next interview, but I know I'd never pull it off because I still have human decency.
