I graduate next school year. After that i dont exactly know what i want to do but i kind of have a plan. My mom desperately wants me to go to college soon as i get out of high school though.

Im not against going to college, but i do want to take a year or two off to just work and focus on my passion. After that go to community college then transfer to regular college. But every time i tell her this she gets so mad and defensive like i dont know what im talking about. “Dont go to community first jobs will think you’re stupid and wont hire you” “its important to go to the best rated college you can” “you need to go to college immediately, you cant wait too long because jobs look at that” shit like that. Half the stuff she tells me isnt even accurate, she just wants me to go so she can tell her friends how “successful” i am just for going to college. Lol what??

Going to college is no issue for me. My grandpa set up a fund for me when he died when i was like 12 that i guess accumulates as the years goes by. As long as i go to college by the time im 25 i can use it. So money isnt an issue, i can easily go a few years in college without having to spend a dime. My grades arent the best but im definitely improving with my attendance and hopefully i can get my gpa to 3.0 by the time I graduate.

So going to college later shouldnt be an issue at all. But telling my mom this is the hard part. Luckily she said i can live with her for a few years rent free, but i know every single day she will keep bringing up the fact that i didnt go to college when she wanted me to. Im kind of afraid of disappointing her too...
