Most of the professional sports teams sit their rookie players down for a long talk about the gold diggers gunning for them.

A few years ago one of the big name retired NFL players who's a present Hall of Famer, was at a local bar. Three people tried to set him up with a women who was involved in the caper. They were trying to get her and him alone so she could scream Sexual Assault.

It was all about blackmailing him for money to drop the charges. He was lucky that several patrons of the bar over heard them planning the caper. Of course they started the scam figuring it was their word against his.

BTW it was quickly debunked since he was never anywhere around the supposed victim while in the bar. If a number of patrons of that bar had not stepped up and told the police, what they overheard these people were planning, his ass would have been arrested for doing nothing wrong.

I think it was Jerome Bettis they tried to set up.

I played college sports at an SEC school and worked for an agent right out of school. I have several friends that went on to play in MLB, NFL, NBA. The women targeting those guys are professionals. They might have a degree and a job but they have their targets on whatever pro they can get to commit. Before social media it was crude and the girls would hang at the bar at the teams hotel. Now the girls slide into their DM’s.

Most of the players are smart. They will fly a girl out for their off day then send them on their way. Make them take a plan B pill before they leave. Lots of very clear conversations and consent through social media and text so the girl knows exactly what she is going out there to do. The pros won’t use snap, they need the whole conversation to be clear. Most of them won’t meet a girl at a club or the mall, they want the paper trail of her agreeing to come to town to bang.

First comment here: I've been reading up on the top posts for a while now and while most people are basically just male meninists with their crazy ideas, conspiracy theories and hate for women, some posts actually make sense because they are based in reality.

There is a german word for exactly the thing happening above: some women (in germany at least) try to catfish unknown football players (soccer for you american dimwits), since they're on the verge of being successful, to then reap the profit; this person is called a "Spielerfrau" ("Spieler" literally translated into "player" and "frau" for woman or spouse in that sense).

In germany there are of course costs to divorce yourself and you can even impose part of the fees on your partner, even if they don't want to divorce. You also have to discuss and negotiate who gets what of, for example, monetary value, things you bought before the marriage, during the marriage, and the overall value you both contributed in the marriage.

So, while not being as easy (since the judges and lawyers are not smoking pot or doing crack all day like in the US), it could still be profitable, even if the other, financially less fortunate partner could still support themselves.
