There is an entire culture of implication that The friend zone isn't an existing thing but rather a fabrication from thirsty men who only view women as sexual objects and seek to exploit them as such. However, this implication seems to originate from a whole community of jilted women. Is it not Naive to try to deny that as human individuals, both men and women know members of the opposite sex who they definitely classify into "strictly platonic" and "possibility for something much more/potential romantic or sexual partner"? I can recognize there is a small group of men who have that "nice guy" stigma who do that, and yes it's reprehensible. But to then stretch to an overall generality like "The Friend Zone doesn't exist" seems to be exclusively a female argument. What is your experience with this and what are your thoughts?

EDIT:Are there women who believe it is not true*
