I'm seeking some RPW advice on a relationship issue with my SO. I'm 25 and he is 27, and we've been together for 7 months. We live together, which I know is generally frowned upon, but it has certainly brought some issues to light that I know we'd both like to work on and overcome.

Long story short, my boyfriend and I have very different ways of expressing frustration with one another. He expresses it in a way that sounds angry (i.e. he says whatever may come to mind without thinking about how it might be perceived) BUT he gets over the issue very quickly and is easily able to move on. I, on the other hand, am a crier. I'm not proud to admit that I have a tendency to take things very personally, and I usually wind up crying over his reaction. I like to talk my feelings out, but he usually says, "I'm already over it. You should drop it and stop crying."

It's one of those things where I don't really see either of us as being wrong in our way of handling things, but we're certainly incompatible in this way. I understand how me crying would be uncomfortable as I believe a lot of men (and even women!) don't always know how to respond to crying. Since I don't believe in changing others, and I do honestly respect that he can let things go much more quickly than I can, I'd love some tips on how to better handle MYSELF and my own emotions in these instances. Can anyone relate or share stories or advice? I'd greatly appreciate the help from this community. Thank you!
