This is the redpill argument, seeing as how most comments seem to deliberately miss its point. Please argue against it so that I have something more effectual to tell myself. I am asking for help.

You’re asking for help so I’ll try to be nice.

Anyone that presents an argument as a dichotomy is trying to sell you something and/or is lying. The dichotomy here being that there’s “what you’ve been told to believe” vs “the ugly truth; why is it that this guy in an expansive universe is one of the special ones that found the “truth.”

Quite simply, it’s a scam. You’re being presented with arguments built off hypotheticals to inspire doubt and insecurity: What if she’s lying, what if she’s cheating, what if everyone else is selfish, what if you are really a hero in a world of victims?

Furthermore, look at how women are presented here. There is no agency for them in this mindset because they’re lying to even themselves; as an alpha it is your role to set a path for them where they covet you. Here’s an experiment for you to try: In any situation where you are given archetypes based on dichotomous relationships, switch them. Does it sound dumb to say “what if men are only in it for the resources and emotional pliablility?” You’re probably thinking, “No, I’m much more nuanced than that!” Well duh.

Apply that same nuance to every other person in existence. Everyone has complicated emotions and that gets even more complicated when you are converging those of two different people. Partnerships are difficult! I’m in a relationship now and conversations about our resources are incredibly necessary because we both want to carry our weight. If someone isn’t ready for difficult conversations, including ones where they need to speak about who is bringing what to the table for both to feel supported by each other, then that person is quite simply not mature enough for a serious long term relationship.

TRP sounds like a disgruntled 14 year old with no experiences talking to women that has only seen the example of an mutually abusive relationship in which the father figure has some toxic masculinity issues about what it means to be a provider for the family, that is also coupled with a mother figure that was barely present and manipulative. They then apply that mentality to themselves to become their father and to treat every women they meet like they would have liked to treat their mother.

At it’s core, TRP and it’s infinitely growing derivations are toxic masculinity bottled and marketed under capitalism and sold as a lifestyle theory. As a man you are expected to make yourself as marketable as possible by acquiring wealth (there’s the toxic masculinity bottled under capitalism) to find the most highly coveted female individual (there’s the misogyny because it doesn’t matter what makes her a person, just that she can produce a child and is wanted by other men) so that you can......What? What’s the endgame here?

My answer is there isn’t an endgame because if you find a partner (we really need to move away from the heteronormativity here) that is supportive and is a positive influence on your life, you no longer need TRP.

TRP puts you in the mindset that you always need it because everyone else is against you; it is literally a marker of an abusive relationship, but worse because it’s an abusive relationship with yourself. It’s telling you that you are a victim in a world of victims that can try to become an alpha, but will always be a beta. You’ll never be good enough for anyone else other than it.

Taking away what is admittedly an esoteric response, TRP is a dating “strategy” that is harmful to yourself and others. Before continuing with it, question one of the major assumptions:

Why do you want a partner? The entire premise is set on the assumption that you want someone with you. So before even considering TRP as something that you’re going to follow you need to ask your self:

Do I want a partner? And just because I can already hear the response “wEll sOciETy saYs i HaVe tO!,” that wasn’t the question. Do YOU want a partner?

And if the answer is yes, why? If you can’t answer why, then the only reason I can come up with is that you’re doing it because you think it’s an expectation of you; and if you can’t come up with your own reason, how can you expect someone else to follow along with your bullshit.

Do you see the connection here? Do you see why arguing against it won't work? This isn't me being mean, I swear. You're suffering and it's shitty and I got all that. But OK, the problem isn't the world here, man.

Here's the problem: someone tells you that they love you and then you think "What if they're lying?" You gotta understand this point because this is the core.

And ok, you say that your lived experience doesn't counter this. But are you a reliable narrator here? Seems like there's something in the way between the world and your experience of it. You're not seeing people and what they say for what they are, rather you're seeing them as abstract, simplified concepts.

If you don't get the point I'm making, please god ask me to rephrase, this is literally the core teaching.

Last thing I'll say:

Everyone is being selfish anyway so why not be selfish yourself? Never alow any one woman to rule your heart, because there is no unicorn (AWALT) so the best you can do is to enjoy your own life without compromises and spin plates if you need to. It's the only sane way to live. Be selfish.

"Enjoy life"? Ask yourself: would you be here posting at this subreddit if you were having a good time? Look deep inside yourself. This is the only way.

I think the answer is in your last paragraph. You have few experiences and the experiences you do have are negative. Of course it's going to paint an ugly picture of what relationships with women are like.

I'm not saying your experiences aren't valid. Because they are. It happened and it really sucked.

Think about those who are in happy, long term, successful relationships. How do you think those relationships work? The experiences of those couples, are they not valid? Are they not real? How do they trust each other?

Can you achieve such a relationship with a woman yourself? Why or why not?
