i researched that a bit last week, there is nestle who owns purina, hills (isn't on market now) and lots of smaller businesses. i would not recommend in investing in nestle, for me personally it's too fucked up what they do

Most companies that sell wine or cat food are going to be under a larger “umbrella” company. Almost all beer or liquor is distributed by one of a few major companies (southern glazer, republic national, breakthru, etc). Same goes for cat food (proctor and gamble, Mars, nestle, smucker etc). These distributors most likely have their own stock listing.

Try to avoid top down investing like that. A good investment is not just a good idea. It's a good idea at a good price. You could say that banks and insurance companies are the biggest scams ever and would therefore would be great investments, but they're not great investments if they trade at 40x earnings. Getting a good company at a horrible price is still a horrible investment.

As for top down ideas, I'm thinking stuff like Pfizer, Merck, Gilead. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_biomedical_companies_by_revenueWhy? Antidepressants, fertility treatments, etc. Don't bet on stupid shit like phase 1 biotech companies that are 99% likely to go bankrupt.

My own stuff doesn't do any top down investing. I'm heavily in real estate and the rest is in financials, oil, wood, and food royalties. Why? They were the best deal at the time. The best deal chances constantly, so the best deal last month won't be the same as the best deal this month.

Logic and stock market are 2 different things. If we go by common logic. Lets say - Make up companies have existed long ago, but in stock market they are no where. What I would say, I can be wrong. Commodity markets for products related to cat food. But commodity market is an different ball game. Invest wisely.

Like others have said, anything to do with cats and wine. I’d also say pharmaceutical companies that manufacture SSRIs since like half of women eventually end up on them.
