Every woman here (at some point) has been told that she's stuck up, conceited, and too full of herself. Think about what promoted that insult🤔

We subconsciously understand that men's respect for women is conditional. She needs to be docile, friendly, non-confrontational, and forgiving. She cannot take herself seriously or have boundaries that limit men's access to her. We're taught that men only listen to, support, and treat their "dream girls" with human dignity. We believe that our sex (attractiveness, reproductive ability, etc) is how we earn respect; And a relationship is how we maintain it.

Our families, our romantic partners, and society have mistreated us. But that doesn't mean we need to be grateful for breadcrumbs of attention. Men who want you to be grateful, want their attention to be your only source of happiness.

You don't need to praise a man that thinks you're desirable. Or praise a man who asked you on a second date. You can value what men (and people) do for you, but never measure your worth by that behavior. Cut off people who think respect is binary and consists only of the powerless and powerful. Respect isn't about control. We accept what we want and reject what we don't. We can't force people to do anything.

You're allowed to reject men's advances if you want to. You're allowed to have preferences. Let men get angry. Let other women get picked.
