I have taken some ubers in the past few months and sometimes it comes up, canadian small talk, "sorry bud, I know it's not suuuuper far..." and they go "no worries, it's not super close!" and will share a story or we stop talking but... I decided to let them know about times I was grateful for a pickup when I didn't have super far to go. That there was a time when I was on a date and felt unsafe... and what a relief when I tapped a few buttons on my phone and had a car pull up I could get into and just leave the situation. Juuuust giving them a little nugget to think about next time they see a "short distance" uber fare come up, it could be someone who needs a bit of help but not like 911 level.

hope it helps, just putting it out there in case it's a gentle small talk alternative to help one person at a time helping them see a bit into what women's lives are like.
