PATERNITY FRAUD | How Women Deceive Men into Believing they are the Father of another Man's Child

My child was conceived under questionable circumstances (wasn’t married, mother was “taking care of birth control”, got pregnant anyway, and had just returned from a 10 day trip around the time of conception). Here were my options:

Test while she was pregnant. Requires her consent and not zero risk to the child. No real option there.
When the child is born, sign the voluntary statement of paternity or don’t. If you don’t, you don’t get any parental rights (still have all the responsibilities if she wants support and you’re the dad).

I gambled and signed it. There is no way to sign and say “as long as he’s mine”, or sign and say “pending DNA test”. If you don’t sign it, you’re not the dad and can’t order a DNA test.

Anyway, years later I did 23andMe for both of us and got my first proof he was mine. Until then, I was never 100% sure he was mine. We do a million tests on every newborn baby, making a paternity test part of the process is extremely logical and best for everyone involved.

has anyone tried acting like they don't know the woman or never had sex with her when accused of fatherhood, because id imagine they can't let a woman just point at any guy and claim he's the father without proof. i mean i get that the system is crooked and if the woman claims she's had sex with you they can deny a test, but i'd just deny knowing of her , or having ever had sex with her , at that point you'd force their hands into doing a DNA test because id imagine they can't set the legal precedent that a woman can just point at any guy she's never had sex with or seen before and claim fatherhood, if they did that, bill gates would magically be the father of thousands of kids, michael jordan , tom brady forget about it , it'd be even more chaos than it already is

Where do those numbers come from? Asking because I’ve never seen a study that was able to correctly estimate the number of children with misattributed paternity as there is no way to get accurate data. The only numbers they are able to estimate are numbers related to DNA tests, which are obviously incredibly skewed given those are all people entirely unsure about paternity. I’ve also never heard the 1 in 3 DNA test numbers.

Also, using international data to make your mind up about rates in your own country isn’t a very intelligent idea. Countries with crazy cultural beliefs around women’s sexuality (eg. India or the Middle East) will always be over represented because women cannot be single parents or expect someone they had an affair with to look after the child so they will lie a lot more often than in liberal countries like the west.
