I also like your observation about the hollow feeling you're left with after casual sex. That's been true for me, too. There's a dopamine-driven excitement that leads up to it, then you "roar," as Greg Adams would say, and ... done. Nothing has changed. The experience contributed nothing to my life. It was a momentary pleasure (not without risks), and it felt pointless. Sometimes it leaves me feeling less self-respecting than I was before. I almost always feel like it was a waste of time.

Anyway, there are endless distractions based on sex. It's good to drop them and seek healthier goals, things that genuinely enhance your life.

Finally, you have completed all four stages of regret and entered the acceptance phase. Well, I also agree that there is no fun in pump and dump. You can have meaningful conversation with another human being irrespective of gender and that's what ultimately matters. I have a couple of friends and I was hooked with a girl once. Conversations with my friends (all male) seem so meaningful. Time passes like playing video games. Having a bit of beer, going to fun places and stuff.

But with my gf, it was entertaining at first because it was new, then it all became monotonous and pointless. It was just pretention after pretention. Well, it may vary from person to person, but it did not work out for me.

Now my family is pressuring me into marriage, and I am against it.

I've gone celibate for almost 4 years. There is this coworker who gets paid Friday and Monday is broke. I dont mean he has no money, I mean he has no money, no food and no gas. Sure Monday morning he is bragging about how he went out and got a girl and paid for her and all of her friends but what he doesn't say is whether he had sex or not. But that isnt even relevant because he cant pay bills with sex. Lunch time I have my food ready because I meal prep he has Gatorade and oatmeal that the company provides customers.

My bank account won't leave me for a better bank. My career & family will always be there whenever entitled women aren't. I'm fine being single because unlike some ladies, I don't need the attention & validation 24/7 or to try to make people think I'm something/someone I'm not. Plus when I see bullshit like women saying they're "dating down" because they're with a guy who makes less money...that says all you need to know.
