I've been working a job I hate for about a year now. It was supposed to be temporary but with covid and my marriage getting worse I haven't had the time/energy to look for a better job. I'm considering quitting so I can focus on getting the house ready to sell, refreshing my skills that haven't been utilized at my current job, and on my mental health.

I have an emergency fund that could cover my expenses for up to 1 year, although I want to use as little of this as possible because it did take a long time to save. My wife and I have agreed on a settlement that excludes these funds. We also don't have kids.

I'm still at the point where I'm trying to figure things out and unsure if I'm making the right decision. My wife has decided she wants to get back together and moved back into our house. I tried to tell her I need more time, etc... but she wouldn't listen. I've been building an RV and have about 100 hours left of work to do on it. Once it's finished I will be going on an extended camping trip so I can finally have some time to think without my wife gaslighting me. Right now I only have a few hours where I can work on it due to noise ordinance and my job, so it's pretty slow going, but if I quit my job I could probably finish in 2-3 weeks. We have 10 months before we can officially file for divorce.

Has anyone done this? Did it help?
