I am divorcing my wife of five years now (already filed) and we have 2 kids. Before we were married I bought the house in my name and have sole ownership and have the mortgage halfway paid off. I was wondering if anyone has any input or history in the matter of letting her stay in the house for the kids sake and how payments are made. I don't want to uproot the kids (12 years old and 5 years old) but i also don't trust her to make payments to me for the mortgage. If she doesn't pay I'm stuck with the mortgage payments and the Child Support payments that are inevitably coming. Lawyer says i should stay in the house and have her move out but i'd hate to do that to my kids.
