The story thus far: Wife was emotionally/verbally abusive for years, finally had enough of it, filed in the Spring. I had plenty of audio/video evidence of what a crazy person she is.

Had the temporary hearing in July, The evidence had a pretty big effect on the judge. I moved out a few days later, got an apartment very close to the house. Kids dig it.

She fired her attorney immediately after the hearing (the audio of her screaming and cursing must have been the lawyer’s fault) and it seemed like things were going to be dragged out and made as difficult as possible. She finally signed the temporary orders this week (night before the next hearing, which was subsequently cx’d) after I agreed to forego the psych evals (which I requested and was granted) and go to mediation ASAP. She has a full time job starting in Nov. and getting time off after that will be difficult. She’s even started depositing money into my acct. for kids health insurance and the mortgage.

Don’t have a mediation date yet, but I hope to have one soon. Would be awesome to wrap this up before the end of the year (though that’s probably wildly unrealistic). Thinking of strategy for mediation now. I can afford the house much more than she can, and would like to keep the kids there for school.
