Anyone have any tips on imputing my wife's income? My lawyer says not we should be able to, but I'm a worrier.

My wife holds a PHD and during the marriage she went to school for 6 years (6 years of 14 total years married) I was in school for 3 years of our marriage (1 undergrad two years in a master's degree). When we seperated in August she was making $95,000 compared to my $75,000. I was working in the human resources department of the company she worked for (this was a huge mistake).

After we seperated (she filed) she was laid off due to a reorganization. To this day she blames me for getting her fired. I had the General Manger write a declaration stating I had nothing to do with this. She searched for a job for 3 months, but couldn't find one that she wanted (she qualifies for a lot but would either have to take pay cut to $75,000 or the commute was too long. She found something wrong with everything).

Anyways she is going back to school to be a nurse. She is on a worker retraining program effectivly on unemployment. She wants me to pay spousal support until she gets a nursing job. My lawyer basically laughed at this.

I've so far found about 20 jobs that she meets the minimum qualifications for AND make at least $75,000/year. She just wants to be a nurse now.

Any advice? Should I be worried?
