Ironic since boys raised by single women are something like 10-20x more likely to become arsonists, far more likely to be drug addicts, murderers, etc., maybe we should ban single mothers from caring for boys if we actually look at statistics.

JK obviously all men are rapists and statistics are misogynistic hate speech so let's just ban men from adopting girls.

And if the concern were human trafficking, that happens to young boys as well, and women can traffick girls too.

In New Zealand

An adoption order shall not be made in respect of a child who is a female in favour of a sole applicant who is a male unless the court is satisfied that the applicant is the father of the child or that there are special circumstances which justify the making of an adoption order.

In Singapore

An adoption order shall not be made in any case where the sole applicant is a male and the infant in respect of whom the application is made is a female unless the court is satisfied that there are special circumstances which justify as an exceptional measure the making of an adoption order.

Because nuance takes a lot more work than blanket rules. Both males and females are capable of abuse of either sex, but it is easier to stamp a paper once than provide continuous guidance, and interviews to already adopted children.

Single women shouldn't be allowed to adopt boys, they do a terrible job at raising them. Boys from single mother houses end up dropping out of education, commit more crimes or end up taking drugs/alcohol.
