Is referring to women by the word 'female' bad or is it something that feminists want us not to use?

If it is used in a grammatically incorrect way, a lot of people will accuse you of being sexist.

Although even if you use it correctly, many people will still accuse you of being sexist.

What happened is like one time some misogynist somewhere referred to women as "females" when the word women was grammatically correct.

So "women like to wear makeup" turned into "females like to wear makeup", for example.

The reality is that most people who do that, do it by accident though. Every 1,000 times the word female is used, 999 times the person using it is not being sexist.

But some people really want to believe that there's some hidden patriarchy out there with a bunch of men who love using the word female as "code" for other misogynists. So they don the crazy pink feminist hair and yell and scream at anyone who uses that word in some kind of deranged mass delusion to justify their obviously crazy beliefs.

It's not inherently negative, though it could be used in a negative context. As usual, this is more feminist whining. Notice they have no complaints about the masculine equivalent word "male."

There's nothing wrong with it or demeaning about it. Some people just want to show how "woke" they are so they complain. If someone complains, you can tell them "Calm down. You're overreacting." Then watch their reaction.

There's nothing wrong with calling the female of the the species human females. After all that is what they are.

But the most appropriate time and place to use it is whenever anyone uses the word male when referring to men in a derogatory way, particularly when they're feminists.

They just hate their misandry being shown up for what it is....

If my memory serves me well, I recall many people who get offended by the word female are the same people who call men males when trying to insult or provoke an argument.

"you males are always..."

female is the wrong word to use as the word female refers to anything that can/could produce eggs to be fertilized by a male. it means you could be saying female as anything from a female fish to a human female. if your saying "human female" then its grammatically correct. but just saying female refers to half the world population of animal. saying women is better as it less wordy but if you are talking about anything with a female body then yes, its correct. but if your using it to describe 18 to end of life human women then no, its not correct. its about the meaning of the word. although female human women are female its referring to many different species as its the scientific word for it and includes babies, animals, plants , kids, adults, and seniors.

Depends on the context. If you're giving a scientific lecture using the word "female" is appropriate. However, if you're just an average guy ranting about women, saying stuff like "These females out here be triflin'" It is a little disrespectful. And frankly, I don't understand why we can't just say "women", to me pronouncing the word "female" takes more effort.
