The company I work for has a Women's Group that pulses out emails, which you can't unsubscribe from. I usually ignore them, but the subject line of a recent one caught my eye. It was asking for donations so women could buy professional attire.

Trying not to jump to conclusions, I thought to myself, "maybe it's for interns, so they can dress appropriately for interviews". After all, I've seen that kind of thing for young men, fresh out of school.

Turns out, they were asking for donations so that our female coworkers could buy new clothes before returning to the office. There was a portion that I will paraphrase below:

2020 has been hard on all of us. Please donate, to help women dress for success as we prepare to re-enter the office.

Me: I went through 2020 too, can I have some shopping money?
